DEA Seeks New Limitations On Drug Used By Michael Jackson

Due to the recent death of Michael Jackson and its possible connection to the drug Propofol, the Drug Enforcement Administration is looking to put new limitations on its distribution.
The DEA is looking to have it classified as a controlled substance, a drug designated for prone abuse and addiction. Until Jackson’s death, it was assumed the drug was mainly used by hospital professionals, as the drug is mainly administered intravenously in hospitals to sedate patients. But such is no longer the case.
Though a lengthy process, the DEA feels it is necessary to add the drug to the controlled substance list, as the number of propofol related deaths has increased in the past few years.
At least some good has come out of Jackson’s passing. Now, hopefully, others will be safe from the same fate.
