"Very sadly, it does not appear that she's going to be back on Idol," Paula's manager, David Soneberg, informed reporters of his client's decision to leave this weekend.
Even though Paula wants to return as a judge, AI production heads FremantleMedia and 19 Entertaiment have yet to draw up a contract for Abrool.
And shooting begins on August 6th!!!
Soneberg says the lack of an offer is "unnecessarily hurtful," and FremantleMedia and 19 Entertaiment are guilty of being "unconscionable and certainly rude" because they've left Paula hanging.
Abdul's manager even contacted the big wigs at 19 Entertaiment to let them know Paula's game for season nine of the show, but he hasn't "received any proposal whatsoever."
Both Ryan Seacreast and Simon Cowell have been offered major $$$$$$ to return to Idol, and Randy's current AI contract runs through 2011, so what gives?
"She's not a happy camper as a result of what's going on. She's hurt. She's angry," says Soneberg.

Paula's Paula and I really do enjoy her. Kara, as much as I wanted to give her a chance, was just too boring; but she did have some good moments, just too few of them.
I hope Paula returns, otherwise, AI is going to sink.

Paula has been part of American Idol since day 1 of the show. She has just got to stay on the show. I love watching Paula and Simon kid around. Paula is almost always kind to the contestants. She always has something good to say. The show worked great when it was just Simon, Paula, and Randy. They made a great team. I can understand Paula wanted more money when after Ryan got such a large increase. Come on American Idol, Paula is needed on the show as much as Ryan. The show is the #1 rated show and Paula is part of the reason. Yes, sometimes she does strange or silly things but that is what sometimes makes her so lovable and memorable.

Paula has always been underestimated. She said yes to David Cook, Chris Daughtry, Adam Lambert and praised Jennifer Hudson- all the opposite of Simon. Paula was always, always, spot on regarding her critics and advice to contestants-she knows what she is talking about. Because he realizes what it is like actually being a singer, and because she realzies the contestant knows his 'evaluation' is being heard by millions on tv, including family and friends- she always gave her critques ins a gracious manner. Naive, though intelligent and creative, she was rediculed during the show by Simon which is extremely difficult to deal with in the middle of doing one's job. Simon often was whispering in her ear just as she was talking- very disruptive. And again, Paula was the one who was more often correct in her appraisals, not the person who acted like he was the correct one. So American Idol will learn their lesson the hard way without Paula.

How can the show treat Paula like this? She is the HEART of Idol!!! I have not warmed up to Kara and find her comments dull in comparison to Paula's. Sure Paula has been a character over the years, but that is what makes her fun to watch. You never know what she is going to say but you always know that she reacts from her gut, like a true fan of pop music. She does act like Simon and give the "exec in the music business" standpoint. That's fine too, but you need a judge who can evaluate from a fan's point of view as well. She dances to the music and she feels it. She also is so kind to the contestants and points out the good parts of their performances so they can build on that (rather than just throwing them a pile of negative comments).
