Dog-Abusing Former NFL Star Released From Jail

As we mentioned before, former NFL star Michael Vick was jailed for his role in a vicious dogfight scandal.
The former Atlanta Falcons quarterback then had to file for bankruptcy protection as he claimed he was between $10-50 million in debt.
But good news for the "animal lover". He's just been released from federal prison after completing his sentence on the felony dogfighting charges.
For the past two months, Vick has been under home confinement to complete the last part of his sentence. During that time he reportedly worked in construction and helped with youth clubs during his stay at a halfway house program.
Vick now faces three years probation and has a three-year suspended sentence on state dogfight charges.
Sources are also revealing that the former QB is expected to seek reinstatement to the NFL. But according to a statement released by the NFL today, "The review of his status is ongoing."
As for Vick's football team, he was dropped last month by the Falcons and is now a free agent. Though with all his time behind jail, we wonder if he's still as good as he used to be.
But more importantly, do U think he should get a second chance?

We are such a hypocrital society. I absolutely dont condone what Vick did but this a man who's job celebrated violence and competition. Is it so surprising that Vick would be a dog fight supporter. Many countries (in Latin America and others) where dog fights are commonplace. I dont think he should have lost his job over dog fighting. People in this country care more about animal abuse then child abuse. The penalties are stiffer for animal abuse than child abuse. Does this make sense to anyone?
He should be given another chance. I believe he learned his lesson. If I was Vick I would want another chance. It was horrible what he did, but it doesn't mean he shouldnt be able to get his job back.

Yes I think that he should be given a second chance. He has paid his dues and done the time. This was a lesson learned for him.. and I am sure that he will remember this that cost him alot….and #8 he is far from a loser..yes I agree that dog fighting is over the top and I don't condone it…but the I have seen folks abuse human beings and done less time than Vick…the legal system is out of whack..

I don't like Michael Vick, but what is everyone saying? So if you commit a crime and go to jail, and serve all of you time, then you should never be allowed to work again? Michael Vick can be such a benefit to educate those who believe dog-fighting is not wrong and only a sport. Believe this; many people do not know it is wrong because they were brought up around dog fights. I suspect Vick is one of those people.

I have 3 pitbulls but I'm not gonna go into that because any person with a brain should know that making 2 animals fight is wrong. I just know that he shouldn't be able to come back. Playing professional sports is a luxury. We pay these people millions of dollars and for what? They save lives? Given their track record they've taken more lives then they've saved. They start out as kids playing a sport every year because they want to do it, most even pay a town or rec center to play and then they actually make money playing and they all get their "I'm holier than thou" attitudes.
