Bush and the Republicans tied down our forces in Iraq while Iran and North Korea invested in nuclear technology. That made North Korea feel secure enough to test ICBMs. If they had been successful, they would have had a delivery system for their nuclear weapons. That would be incredibly bad for national security. Iran, with American forces tied down in Iraq, feels secure enough to defy the UN as well as the US. Very bad for national security.
I guess she learned all that when she was in the daily security briefings? Guess she didn't care about all the Iraqi women raped every day or the thousands of Iraqi intellectuals Saddam murdered or the men who disappeared or the gassed Kurds. Maybe when she was a cheerleader at UVA she got inside info from the FBI. As a news comentator, I especially enjoyed her insulting the Italians by asking if she'd get food poisoning from their gelato. Brilliant.

A secret document in England called the Downing Street Memo revealed that they had already decided they wanted a war, and they weren't even going to consider other options. That's just the tip of the iceberg. US and UK advisors said that Saddam had no WMDs, but they found people to tell them what they wanted to hear. Saddam had no links to Al Qaeda either — and people who watch Fox News STILL think he did. Add it all up and you have a war based on lies. So actually Katie's right on the money. The truth is, we went into war believing that this was the same country as it was during WWII. Meaning, that it was a country full of people who had national pride and a sense of right and wrong. So now we are a country whose military is at war, not a country at war.
But if you guys are comfortable with people genuinely wanting to kill you, your family, and your friends simply because of your beliefs then it makes sense that you don't agree with this war. Me, I have this strange need to feel safe for my friends and family. And any person or group that wants to destroy those dear to me because of religion and ideologies is deemed unsafe and unstable in my eyes.

They probably thought Israel’s modern hi-tech armies would quickly smash their enemy.

We are against Big Government, while Mr. Bush adds more power to The White House every day. That would be incredibly bad for national security. Iran, with American forces tied down in Iraq, feels secure enough to defy the UN as well as the US. Very bad for national security.

Not likely. Certainly any president would have attacked Afghanistan, since the Taliban openly acknowledged they were sheltering Bin Laden. But to give up on chasing Bin Laden and suddenly decide to attack Iraq for reasons that are still unclear? No. I think that massive mistake is entirely the fault of Bush and his minions.
