Mariah Drops HARD!
Filed under: Mariah CareyMimi's mediocre (at best) new single, Obsessed, debuted on the Billboard Hot 100 last week at a disappointing #11.
Well, the new charts are in and, as we predicted, Mariah has suffered a steep decline.
This week, Carey's single has dropped to #20 and it likely won't crack the Top 10 at all!
Radio has not been receptive to the song and Mimi has just had to announce that she's delaying the release of her new album.
Sucks for her!

…if she has a ballad in the bag, release it now. She tried for a different sound and what the heck. But she will pull out something more radio friendly is my prediction.
We had to send back all her perfume at our major department store yesterday.

I never really liked mariah much. the amount of photoshop in every pic ive ever seen of her is so incredible im not even sure id recognize her if i saw her.

After listen to the song a billion times, I didn't think (even though I love the song) it would go to number one. It doesn't seem to be a song by her, or generally in music history, that would break records. But I do believe this is going to be one of her greatest albums and I'm routing for her. She'll have a couple number 1's off this album most definitely. Not every song can be number one. Even in the early years with Music Box, Anytime You Need a friend is my favorite song on the album. But it wasn't a single that went to number one. I thought it was worthy of a number one like Obsessed BUT realistically there not songs that were strong enough to get up there.

Nobody is surprised. The crappy song was doomed from the start. Nobody is interested with aged has-beens trying to look sexy. On a lighter note: the song did hit the Top 20. Mariah's fellow aged has-been Madonna, a.k.a. the Queen of Flops, couldn't even crack #201. Both their upcoming CDs (along with Crack Queen Whitney Houston's) will flop hard. Lesson: All these aged has-beens need to give up already. Their days as stars are over. They're now only laughing stocks.

I never could stand Mariah anyway so I'm not too surprised more people are catching on. She is waaaaayyy over rated. Her prime was about 15 years ago. And anyone who has to constantly use thier hands when singing to show the octaves….only shows how overrated she is. I hope rest of her album flops and she disappears for awhile.

well the album, "the emancipation of whatever", the first single I Like That just hit #13, never did top 10, and then We belong together reach NUMBER ONE FOR 14 STRAIGHT WEEKS, so you never know, maybe there are better tracks than Obssesed… I Like Mariah (the old one) But I have to admit that Obssesed is a mediocre song!

Also if u look at TEOM album the first single Its Like That peeked at 15 then We Belong Together was at number 1 for 14 weeks!!! So this can peek at 11 coz the next single out will be a ballad which is Mariah at her best anyways!!!!

What do you expect? The single was hardly memorable or great. Hardly what you would expect from someone 20 years in the business. I usually root for Mariah, because she's easy to make fun of and is sort of an underdog, but she's become somewhat of a parody of herself over the last several years. Fire your managers or whomever is giving you advice, Mariah. Your body is OK, but do you really need to flash it all the time? Make peace with Ben Marguiles and Walter Afanasieff and start writing some great songs with them again. Ditch the hot producers of the day..they're only good for the moment. The stuff you're making now already sounds dated.

THE SCOOP: Mariah has been summoned by Universal to record a last minute "pop" friendly hit to save the record from hitting bottom. They hated the singles off of MC=2, but since those singles stalled, they now can call the shots. The delay is to allow for recording and mastering the cd in time for delivery.

So, it's very clear you don't understand music trends or charts at all. You made a huge fucking deal about Miley Cyrus (Hannah Montana) debuting one spot of Mariah a couple weeks back. I fucking hate Mariah, but I've been following the music charts for years now - about 10. Considering that after 4 weeks or so, "Obsessed" is at 14 (up 6 spots from two weeks ago) and Hannah Montana is at 71, you should feel a bit stupid - and you really are - you obsession with Lady gaga is rather disgusting - never seen so many biased posts in my life - get a room with her…oh wait you wouldn't be able to get it up. If you knew anything about the music industry, you would realize that many songs debut high and if they catch on, they rise back up. So, it's pretty clear that this song will most likely hit top 10 this week or the week after. When the album releases, good chance this song will go to number one. Suck it…I know you like that.
