Eddie Van Halen is recovering after undergoing surgery to correct some problems in his left hand.
Van Halen had developed pain in his left pinky and thumb, which progressively worsened until the digits locked up entirely.
Upon seeing a specialist, it was discovered that Van Halen suffered from a “bone spur, twisted tendon and a cyst in the joint of his left thumb.”
Surgery was the only cure and though the prospect initially scared him, Van Halen says, “I am totally jazzed that they found the problem, fixed it and in about four months my hand will feel like I am 18 again. Thank God.”
But the musician is taking his time to recover in the next 4 to 6 months because he wants everything to heal properly.
Sounds like a plan!
Don’t get hooked up pain meds!
