Jon & Kate Plus A Failing TV Show

Their show is destined to become a bigger failure than their marriage!
Jon and Kate Gosselin have their work cut out for them if they want to make it through the next 25 or so episodes of their once a hit TV show, Jon & Kate Plus Eight. According to the ratings, viewers are no longer interested in the Gosselin brood and their marital problems.
Once the highest watched show on the network, now the ratings have been plummeting. This week's episode only attracted around 3 million viewers, which is down 4 million from the previous week. Experts believe that the show, on its current course and format, will not survive.
Robert J. Thompson, founding director of the Bleier Center for Television and Popular Culture at Syracuse University suggests:
"I don't know if the show can make that new transition [from two parents raising eight kids to one parent raising the children]. It's like if The Cosby Show, mid-season, suddenly became Married With Children."
It's true! Who wants to watch that?
Perhaps it's time for a new line-up. They could do two new shows, back-to-back. They'll start with Kate Plus 8, then follow it up with Jon Minus Dignity & Responsibility.
Of course, they could also introduce Homewrecking Hailey on the show. That would certainly boost ratings, all the while killing any chance for Jon to redeem himself with his ex-wife and America.

Finally.. I used to love the show but since they started using for there divorse I have stopped.. Think of the Kids..
Not surprised. The show has become less of the "Plus 8" and more of just "Jon and Kate"
These two shouldn't even air their dirty laundry out in public like they have and it's just tiring seeing these two all the time. I really feel bad for the kids out of this whole senario
I totally agree….I'm just tired of hearing about Jon and the show really isn't that good right now. Time to get those kids off air and on to a normal (if it exists for them anymore) life!

So why is "Homewrecking Hailey" a Homewrecker when she met him after he was getting a divorce and yet Angelina Jolie, who met Brad Pitt while he was still married a Saint? Why do you say Jon has no dignity or responsibility yet Brad Pitt gets a free pass? And why is Kate the sympathetic victim yet Jennifer Aniston is attacked by you?

……I am so proud of all the people that stopped watching. Kudos to them. Now maybe we can stop having to see these 2 everywhere and they will concentrate on their kids. Of course not because they want to. They just won't have anything else to do.

Yeah i stopped too - it was great when it was all about the kids, and the occasional kate whipping jon, but now its a downer. i would watch Kate Plus 8 though.

The show will be better once it's renamed Kate Plus 8, and Jon is nowhere to be seen.

It's a horrible show. Jon is "checked out" and Kate is a bitch! Those poor, poor children. Really, they're the biggest losers, of course. The show should be axed immediately.

3-4 million were the viewers they had BEFORE the divorce announcement. The 10 million were all the people tuning in to see people they never watched before scream, cry, fall apart, etc. DID YOU HAVE 3-4 MILLION PEOPLE WATCH YOUR CABLE SHOW MARIO????

Why would anyone watch if they don't like the people involved? People used to like Jon and root for him. They loved the kids. The show was more about managing them, not about their greedy parents getting tons of money, free trips and doing product placement. Viewers could identify with living frugally and taking care of kids while doing so. It's a real turnoff now. Jon getting a luxurious apartment in NYC was the last straw.

Ratings are down because EVERYONE is sick of the entire thing. These people are everywhere in the media and didn't deserve the attention. I, like most people, are sick to death of hearing about them. Most of America didn't even watch the damn show to begin, yet all we hear about is Jon this, Kate that.
WE DON'T care. Never did.
This show used to make me feel good… it was nice to see a happy family with normal family problems… it was an escape for me, a product of divorce. Now it's just sad and reminds me of sad memories. Who wants to watch a family fall apart?…. not me
Had this been a simple case of two people drifting apart, they could have worked through it. But, in their case, it's gone too far. Neither one has shown one bit of class(Kate/money, and Jon/women). They both should have put the kids first, and kept their mouths shut. Kate with that smug look on her face, and Jon running around like a teenager, hasn't helped their cause one bit. This is a case of people having too much handed to them, and acting like a couple of spoiled brats, with no thoughts of their kids feelings at all. I see them getting more freebies for themselves, moreso than the kids. Most people with a lot of kids, have to take care of, or raise those kids themselves, without any help from the outside world. They both need their butts kicked for making such a mess of things, and taking so much for granted. They had it made ’til they themselves messed up. Selfish things deserve to lose it all. There's no way I'd watch that show!! Time to get their s*it together, and grow up. Turn the cameras off and stop giving them so much attention! They're not celebs, they've done nothing outstanding, they have no talents, so what's the big deal with them?

Perez, you are always taking up for Kate. Did you ever seen the numerous episodes where she spoke to Jon like he was pond scum on the show? She ridiculed him whenever she didn't agree with him and screamed at him in public when she felt he wasn't doing what she told him to do. She even told him one time he was breathing too loud! She's lucky he stayed as long as he did.
TLC CANCEL THIS STUPID FUCKIN PROGRAM
Any respect i had for these people is out the window, cancel their show and show them what its REALLY like to raise a lot of kids on a regular salary

Yeah maybe America actually feels sorry the children. Probably not but it's a thought. They whole maybe they will or won't break up ruins the upcoming season. Most people watched so they could talk about how the two hated each other. Now that we know it is just not fun.

I watched in the early days when the children were none the wiser. But now it's like watching children in a sweat shop, I don't dare turn it on. I sure hope the show tanks and is cancelled. And how in the he-ll are they going to torture 25 more episodes out of these poor kids. Stoopid arss parents.
The show has always been a it boring. You can only watch kids eating ice cream and playing in a toy car for so long. The most interesting thing about the show was Jon & Kate's relationship. She was always verbally smacking him down. Now it is all being played out in the media. There is noting to tune in for. I actually stopped watching 2 seasons ago. I think the show will meet a natural death within the next couple of years.
This show is totally boring, the kids are like 15 now. Who wants to watch them grow even uglier than they are now? I hate that show, take it off the air soon, please.
The show seems forced now like Jon & Kate are just going through the motions. They better save what money they made as it probably won't be around much longer, especially Jon who is throwing it around like it's never going to run out…well it just might Jon.

The show is still a success and will always be. The viewers love Kate and the kids, they make the show to what it is today. Kate & Jon werent inlove during the first season, so nothing has really changed, the children are still entertaining.
ok so kate needs to let go of the lesbo style haircut and speak to her hairdresser about extensions… noone wears that 90's hairstyle n e more… let it go…
Re: Spindoc – Hailey and Jon met WAY before the divorce filings. She is the daughter of their good friends. She auditioned for FOUR different reality shows and "reconnected" with Jon when he started partying again. She's not technically a homewrecker, but ignorant tramp for sure.
She didn't start the fire, she just jumped in the spotlight once it got going!
