This Is It! Michael Jackson Film To Be In Theaters For Limited Run!

They didn't waste anytime exploiting honoring the King of Pop!
The film documenting the final weeks of Michael Jackson's life as he prepared for his comeback tour, will be released by Sony worldwide on October 28th and run for just two weeks in theater.
The studio describes the film, titled This Is It, as an "intimate portrait of Michael Jackson as you've never seen him before."
It will showcase Jackson as he rehearsed for his upcoming shows at London's O2 area that were to start mid-July.
"This film is Michael's gift to his fans," says director Kenny Ortega. "It's a very private, exclusive look into a creative genius's world. With this film, we get a rare portrait of Michael as he prepares for his final curtain call and what I believe was going to be his master work."
Tickets will go on sale September 27, almost a month before the movie is released.

I like how they just happened to be making a film of him right before he died. It's like Left-Eye from TLC. Moral of the story, don't let anyone chronicle your life in film, you'll probably die. I predict Jon's next.

If it was meant to be a gift to us by Michael Jackson, then why do we have to pay for it? Gifts are supposed to be free and the cost is always shouldered by the giver. WTF?

Re: themadprincess – It does seem odd how people want to make an icon out of a drug addict, one that took drugs to the extreme, like he lived most of his life, extremely. I think the guy was obviously mentally ill and needed help than adoration. Shame no-one gave him the help he needed. People who are out to make money want to brush his drug addiction and obsession with youth and children under the carpet to make a few bucks.

Of course the fan's will be seeing the film and everyone expects that, but what people probably don't realize is that the haters will be the first one's in line to get their tickets.
And FYI PEREZ, they are not exploiting Michael by releasing this footage as a movie, this is what Michael would have wanted. He would have wanted his fans to see what it was that he was working so hard on.
Re: karencarpenter – Yes they did refund the concert tickets. They got on that within a week after his passing. Us fans were given the option of receiving a refund or receiving the tickets as a keep sake.

You know they are going to extend this thing for more than 2 weeks. they say that now so everyone will rush to the theater and as soon as the two week end mark comes close I bet they announce that they are extending it because of high demand. I can't wait to see it though, so much better than a tour of his shit.

Yes, I will be one of them. What I want to know is did he fake his death or not? The rumors are flying! All the way down to an MJ double which they are claiming was who died from a terminal illness. Who knows?! Honestly, it would not surprise me at all.
