It's a princess in a castle allusion…he's wandering through brambles trying to reach her, she's locked up with a fabulous gown feeling sorry for herself. Yes, it's silly, but I like it.

Please don't be ignorant, all the bands (Evanescence, Within Temptation, Nightwish, The Gathering, Epica, After Forever, Lacuna Coil) are nothing alike, the only similarity between them is that they are fronted by female singers. Supposed, how can someone rip off another band that are barely known in the US during that time. Of course, there's going to be similarity between them too, it's a small world you know. It's true that Evanescence is not the innovator of such things but who was the one that put all that fairytale, dark, gothic w/e thing on the masses first?

Perez - you confuse me. You give so much "airtime" to celebrities who are truly without ANY talent. And then you bash someone like Kelly Clarkson. At least (1) she actually can sing! Shocking - I know. (2) She writes much of her own music and lyrics. (3) She is a positive role model for young women. Her songs are inspirational. She has not been found to be addicted to drugs, driving while under the influence, arrested, etc. etc.
I realize you are just catering to what many people want to see. But, enough is enough. Kelly is a breath of fresh air in an America where celebrities are self-obsessed and in many cases, just plain old dumb.
And one more thing, her new CD is amazing. A little different, and I see why her record company is concerned because it won't (and hasn't) appealed to the 13-year old girl market they were hoping to target. But, that says more about the society we live in than it does about Kelly Clarkson's talent. It's all about the bottom line. There is no value in art and self-expression…even if a CD or a movie does make money…if it doesn't make enough, it's worthless.

Kelly Clarkson is a very nice down to earth girl from all accounts of the fans I've read. Her voice is amazing. Amy has a good voice but she doesn't always sound good live.As for Kelly, hurray for her making an album that she wanted to. If its not getting the acclaim it deserves. that's too bad because it is brillant in many ways.
The Open Door, on the other hand, Amy Lee's offering to the universe was just awful. That was a band that had a huge future when Moody was writing as well but she did some pretty underhanded things behind the scenes.

Perez, the song wasn't bad at all. I don't get why you are trashing her. Everyone bitches when artists don't write their own songs. This was her first effort on her own. She will learn from her mistakes and do better the next time. This was a better effort than her first single. That single was half horrible and half pretty good. Plus, most artists flop have a shitty CD after a successful one(ie Pink's Try This, Beyonce's D-Day, Usher next CD, etc.)

Just ’cause 'My December' isn't full of top40 songs doesn't diminish it in any way. In fact it says more about the listening public than Kelly. I equate mainstream radio to summer blockbusters, colourful, easy to digest, check-your-brain-at-the-door kinda stuff, but you rarely see them pick up awards. They're all about opening weekends and nothing else. It's the same with radio. The REAL music has longevity, while anything that sounds like 'HEY HEY YOU YOU' is destined to die after an initial spell of overplay.
I know I will be listening to 'My December' for many years to come and really that's all that matters to me.
