After touring a Ukrainian orphanage in keeping with the efforts of the Elton John AIDS Foundation, baby Lev has stolen the hearts of Sir Elton and his partner, David Furnish.
Elton said that Furnish “always wanted to adopt a child and I always said no, because I am 62 and because of the traveling I do.” But since meeting the adorable Ukrainian toddler, he’s had a change of heart!
The recent death of Elton’s friend, keyboardist Guy Babylon, has partly inspired his decision to adopt because “what better opportunity to replace someone I lost than to replace him with someone I can give a future to.”
The couple could face some obstacles in adopting from the Ukraine, but we wish them the best of luck!
Little Lev sure looks happy in the arms of Poppa Elton!
