The Cuban-American actress has been a busy bee all around NYC promoting her new flick, We Own The Night, and though she denied those pregnancy rumors during her Tuesday visit to TRL, she did tell Latina magazine (in their Nov. cover story interview) what kind of mami she’ll be, if she had a daughter:
“I would teach her [my daughter] Spanish. But first, I’d study up on mine—it’s Spanglish and very improper. I’m not sure what I would teach her about culture. That’s probably why I don’t have kids yet. I feel like I need to go to Cuba first—whether Castro is in power or not—and figure out some stuff on my own. I guess it would be fun to go with my daughter and find out together.”
Now that's a well-thought out statement.

I don't know any of the places you've mentioned because I've never been there. However, I am latina and I live in La Jolla.
I could say the same thing about the thousands of trailer parks full of white trash all over the country. Yet I don't make generalizations about an entire race, because it is ignorant to do so.
I'm guessing the reason why the majority of those neighborhoods you mentioned are full of latinos is because the majority of the entire American continent is Latin. I'm sure there are dangerous ghettos all around the world, and I'm willing to bet that the ghettos in Russia/Eastern Europe/ Southeast Asia, etc… are not full of Latinos. It will depend on the geographical area.
The fact remains that those who live the good life in Mexico are not going to leave Mexico. It will be the ones that are struggling that cross the border; be it Mexicans, Guatemalan, Panamanian, Dominican, Puerto Ricans, etc… And to go back to square one, it is usually the ones who lack an education/financial means who end up in street gangs and a life of crime [Note I didn't say ALL. There are also many who are hard-working, honest people that have to live in the same run-down neighborhoods as the criminals].

Educate yourselves people! I am Mexican, well educated and well spoken. Do you realize how much money those horrible mexicans that everyone is hating on put back into the American economy? Everytime they purchase something there is a sales tax. That sales tax goes back to the schools/districts, etc. What will happen if we try to kick out 20-30 million Mexicans? Your kids loose out! There was a study that indicated that the "illegal" population put back over 200 million dollars into the Texas economy. If you read the newspaper (if you can read) it stated that there is a shortage of field workers becuase of deporation of illegal immigrants. This is causing our veggies and fruits to just sit there which is now causing a shortage at grocery stores, which mean higher prices for both you and me. Do you want to go pick lettuce or strawberries in the fields? do you want your kids to pick lettuce? Probably not. Someone has to. They are taking the jobs that NO one wants. Be prepared to pay $2.00 a head of lettuce. I am sure you would want them working in the fields then. By the way, my nice suburban neighorbood looks like crap becuase the white guy that lives across the street has a frickin sofa in his front yard like he is in Sanford & Son…oh yeah, the cops were at the other white guys house last night, they arrested his kid again.
