After suddenly becoming ill in her office, Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, 76, was hospitalized on Thursday.
The judge had recently undergone treatment for an iron deficiency (aka anemia), leaving her feeling fatigued and lightheaded. Anemia is a typical side effect of chemotherapy in pancreatic cancer patients – a disease Ginsburg battled and won this past year.
Although she will remain in the hospital overnight, it is just a precaution in order to monitor her blood pressure and dispense fluids.
But, Ginsburg should be back to work shortly. She hardly even took anytime off following her cancer-related surgery in February as she hopes to match the legacy of Justice Louis Brandeis, who served for more than 20 years and retired at age 82.
Make sure to rest up!
