Everyone is aware that steps need to be taken but Gore has politicized and polarized it in such a way as to not bring people together but to divide them. He (and the scientific reports he was quoting) did not predict you would leave the movie theatre and be smooshed by a hurricane. Global climate change means an increased frequency in storms of worse severity between now and whenever the event stabilizes, which could be hundreds of years. I realize "years" is a hard concept for a preteen to grasp but stretch a litte, eh? You might want to ask the residents of New Orleans how they feel about storm warnings — they have some experience.
