Quote Of The Day

“I think the best TV comes out of people who don’t like TV. That was certainly our inspiration when we made Seinfeld. I’d say [that traditional sitcom format] it’s gone. And, not to be immodest, I think you’ve got to do a show better than mine to really capture the audience. ‘Cause every show has to leapfrog. You know, Cheers had to leapfrog The Cosby Show, we had to leapfrog Cheers…”

hes definitely right
1. I can think of a few shows that leapfrogged Seinfeld. Let's just go with Friends to keep it simple. Jerry Seinfeld is an egomaniac. If he was trying to be funny when he said that, it wasn't.
2. According to the homeless guy who used to dwell outside the building he lives in /lived in? in cetral park west he was a total asshole. The homeless guy said Madonna, who lived there as well, was very cool on the other hand that she once gave him a big bottle of nice liquor during the holidays. Yes people. Back when she celebrated xmas and all things catholic.
The Office and 30 Rock are outstanding, and time will tell if they leapfrog Seinfeld. Other than those two shows, there is nothing out there to see on network TV that is anywhere that level. You have to go to cable to see other good comedies.
And "Friends" leapfrogged you before "Seinfeld" even finished you egotistical maniac
