Say hello to the newest member of our family!!!
We just named him Teddy and he's our little teddy bear.
Actually, he's a mini Goldendoodle and we are madly in love!
We got him on Monday and he's almost eight weeks old.
Teddy is the little brother to our adorable Maltese, Coquito, who is getting older now (he's 12 ).
We had no idea what kind of doggy we wanted, but we knew we wanted to add one to our family and our mom's birthday was the perfect occasion to welcome him to the clan.
How'd we stumble upon a Goldendoodle?
We typed in "small" "cute" and "smart" into Google and they popped up!
Teddy will grow up to be about 20 lbs and even more adorable than he already is.
We got him at Southern Cal Kennels, Grade A mini Goldendoodle breeders.
We are just so in love.
Our little Teddy bear!
We even made a little video with our new man.

I have a Chocolate Lab, Jago, from Lab Rescue;
I have a Bischon/Cocker, Bogey, from Fairfax Animal Shelter; AND
I have a Beagle, Hannah, from HART. All purebred, and my 17-yr-old Wheaten Terrier, Blondie, just died and was from FX Animal Shelter!!
I also have 4 children and 4 cats, none purchased like chattel.

The only thing that melts my heart is knowing that because of stupid people who buy dogs from breeders - especially mixed dogs being marketed as "designer dogs" - thousands of dogs in shelters are not going to find homes. Your dog is a mutt and mutts should NOT be bred because of unknown genetic and health problems.

Teddy reminds me of my late dog named Beyonce. LOL. OK, first off, the reason why we named our dog Beyonce it's because she's so furry (the dog) and it kinda looked like Beyonce's hair. LOL.

there are Goldendoodle at shelters and rescues now, you should have saved on instead. They are just mutts, so there is nothing special about them. Its a silly name to get people to pay a shit load of money for these dogs and for what? Nothing, they are mutts. PS a true real breeder wouldn't breed mutts.

Actually, I'm not an idiot. I have done my research when deciding if I should try the rescue groups again. I chose NO because of what I needed for my family. By all means adopt a rescue if you don't have small kids or you're lucky enough to find a non-agressive breed puppy. And since you don't know all the details, don't make excuses for the rescue OR for the vet. I knew immediately there was something wrong with the dog, and I have no veterinary training! No vet misses an advanced pregnancy - All you had to do was look at her and you saw the pups moving.
I support rescues, but I support good breeders just as much.

1. Every goldendoodle and labradoodle I have ever met has been absolutely retarded, untrainable and WAY too high energy. And I've been working with dogs for the past 5 years, so I've met a lot.
2. I can't believe you went to a "breeder" to buy a mutt. Dumb. If you must go to a breeder, at least walk away with a purebred dog.
3. Like everyone else said, adopt from a goddamn shelter. There are plenty of lovable mutt puppies just like the one you spent way too much money on at shelters.
4. 7 and a half weeks? That puppy should stay with his mother until at LEAST 8 weeks of age, if not longer. He is not properly weaned and will probably have (more) behavioral issues as a result.

It's a shame that you couldn't advocate getting a dog from a shelter. Instead you used your "celebrity" status to continue the trend of paying for a dog. Think next time you do something and write about it and what the impact will have on your readers and in this case, dogs that will be put to sleep!

While your dog is absolutely precious, I can't believe you'd link everyone to a breeder with such high recommendation. There are thousands of dogs who are just as adorable that are living in a 3 x 3 cage in a shelter! In fact, due to the wildfires in California, there are tons of animals being relocated and you instead chose to go to someone who is paid hundreds of dollars for a puppy.

Perez…sorry you're getting all this shit from everyone! A lot of time some think you deserve it but I'm with you here. Sure it's great to adopt dogs but it's not like you got him from a puppy mill! These people do not sound like schmucks, they seem reputable and seem to care about the animals they are breeding and decided to breed the Goldendoodles b/c of many requests. People want what they want. This little guy needed a home too, as long as you do your part to have him neutered or at least be sure he's not pimpin around getting hot bitches pregnant you aren't doing anything wrong. So what if you paid for him! My mother and my best friend have bought from breeders and they were great dogs, the breeders were great too. There are many breeders out there that do this for a living but it's b/c it's what they love, they have a passion for these animals, you'd have to, especially if the home is as described, sounds like a luxurious dog house that the breeders get to stay in! I have 2 dogs that I rescued and they are great dogs too. However one day I plan to find a breeder and purchase a pure breed, pure black, long haired pekingnese. He will be Sambo #2….after my childhood dog bought from a breeder who lived for 21 1/2 years.
It's upsetting that you post PETA ads on your website, while at the same time promote puppy mills and overbreeding with your decision to buy a dog. If you don't want to set an example and adopt a shelter puppy, that's fine. But giving the breeder free advertisement, and encouraging others to buy from breeders, only furthers the problem of animal overpopulation which I'm sure you are aware of.

Goldendoodle from a Grade A Kennel?!?! It's a MUTT! Instead of supporting kennels that are not legit in their breeding programs ie backyard breeders and puppymills; the same dog could've been adopted at a local shelter. People are so ignorant. Anyone that believes there are tea cups, all doodle, poohs, and anything advertised as designer dogs; buyer beware! These dogs are puppies produced solely for profit. Instead if you want a cross dog, ADOPT! Don't buy from pet shops, either, as they get their pups from horrid puppymills.
PS~Goldendoodles are not rare! They are Goldens bred with a friggn Poodles! Puggles are Pugs bred with beagles. Go to your local shelter, and even though the shelters don't stoop low enough to list their dogs as designer breeds; you'll be getting the same type of dog for way less cost. Please don't support breeders in it for profit. You don't know what temperments you'll get from these dogs, as the breeders to breed for improving a breed. It's just $$$ to them, and typically it will be a loss for the owner, when they deal with genetic diseases and such.
