Sammy Admits He Bleaches His Skin!

We knew something was going on!
After those creeptastic pictures of Sammy Sosa hit the web everyone's been wondering what the fuck is going on with his face.
On Wednesday the former Cubs player finally explained the reason behind his whiter appearance saying: "It's a bleaching cream that I apply before going to bed and whitens my skin some."
Some!? We think it's done a little bit more than some! Try a whole lot!
Sosa's also using the bleaching cream as a moisturizer and is reportedly in talks to market it.
After seeing these pictures, we think it may be a tough sale to hawk it as just a moisturizer!

Yes. Does a white person getting a tan mean they secretly want to be Hispanic? Or does it mean they don't like to look at their pasty see through legs in shorts? For the last time, Michael Jackson had Vitiligo, proven by his autopsy. Back to the topic at hand. This statement is fake, Sammy revealed it was caused by a change in foundation he uses for his skin (which is makeup, not skin bleach).

Honestly I saw him in person and it didn't look that bad - really! The picture is awful but he didn't look that way last week so I'm assuming it is the camera lighting and so forth.

First of all Sammy's wife is not white. She is dominican too. I was born and raised in Dominican Republic and I never heard of us thinking light skin is better, I never heard anybody wanting to be lighter or darker. Our race is Hispanic / Latino and our language is Spanish, our background is a mixture of european and african, that's just our background. We come in all kind of colors, skin complexion is not an issue in Dominican Republic, yes you might find couple of dumb ass country ignorant people who think like that and that's their own opinion. I don't like what sammy did, but it has nothing to do with race or nationality. It was a personal thing he wanted to do IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH RACE OR NATIONALITY.

Dark skinned dominicans are target of jokes, name calling, social tags, etc, etc. It gets so rough it's not even funny. He stated he's now wearing green contacts "just for fun". He believes his days would be happier if he becomes lighter. He has lots of money for sure, but growing up he didn't received much education and this is where it shows.
His face looks like cut up hot dog meat now. It's sad, but it's a reality. Whiteness is sort of the standard and the ideal, especially in Latin countries. Even American Latins have embraced this notion to an extent.
Whiteness is a social construct. It's been drilled into us from birth that everything good is associated with this Whiteness. To a degree, there is a certain amount of privilege attached to having this "Whiteness", that other darker races won't even attain.
However I never blame White people directly for their privilege, but I would hope that we all could understand and accept that White Skin Privilege does exist. Not saying a White person's life is all roses, but they do have advantages in the world…this is how fate, and history have played it out.
I always hated Sammy Sosa's illiterate ass anyway, no matter what color that bitch is…lol!

For one thing, tanning is a natural bodily process. (Sure overtanning is unhealthy) but it's unavoidable if you go outside a lot. Bleaching of the skin, (which has actually been done by caucasions back in the era when the whitest skin was the most desired). Is NOT natural. I personally think that everyone should love themselves for what they were born with.

Uhh, white people didn't "start" the self-hatred that many blacks feel. This kind of self-hatred and preference for lighter skin goes way back historically in Africa (and a lot of other places). Stop blaming white people for all the things that ALL people did in the past - often with much more offensive intensity, and for longer, than white people ever did - and in most cases, everybody BUT white people are still doing world-wide (you do realize that slavery is still rampant in every country that is NOT white, don't you?)
Blk Beauty: LOL, nice try. But oh guess what? Us white women are quite happy with our cupid-bow lips, our porcelain skin, our clear blue eyes, our silky hair, and our refined features. And it seems that everyone else wants those things too, from what I can tell. Point out to me how many successful celebrity black women and men haven't either tweaked themselves to appear more white, or naturally look like they have a lot of white blood. And their audiences are the black community - so that is the black community's preference. Personally I think that black women of all types look great as they are (or used to be before they started bleaching their skin white and hair blonde, shaving their noses and lips, and wearing green eye contacts etc.). I think our country is much more interesting and appealing if everyone not only appreciates their own qualities, but does not insult the qualities of others, and can actually learn to really appreciate them. Think how great that would be.

I agree that white people who want to tan often are dealing with self-esteem issues. I can also assure black people that, when white people in your presence are discussing issues like tanning, and they sense that any discussion of physical appearances along that line triggers your self-hatred, they will make some self-disparaging comment in the hope of making you feel better. So if you are hearing white people say that they feel "ugly" without a tan, and that "you are so lucky", that is what is going on. They really are NOT motivated to try to look more black.

Also, large breasts and bottoms = black? When did that idea become established? If you stop and consider, the look that women are really going for is the Swedish/Nordic woman.
