With New Moon opening next weekend, the disaster flick will inevitably be knocked off its high horse, but for now 2012 is #1 at the box office!

Although critics had less than high hopes for the movie, the Sony Pictures flick is expected to earn over $61 million by the weekend’s close, with a impressive $23.7 mil earned in ticket sales on Friday alone.
