Shayne Lamas has taken publicity whoring to a new level!
The daughter of Lorenzo Lamas and star of Leave It to Lamas was arrested on suspicion of DUI charges on Saturday night in Venice, but broke the news to the media herself!
Lamas released the following statement to E! News (AKA the basic cable network her shitty reality show airs on):
Early Saturday morning, after consuming one drink, I willingly drove through a mandatory check point on my way home with complete confidence of passing. However, the breathalyzer indicated that I was over the legal limit of blood alcohol content and was arrested onsite.
I take full responsibility for my lack of judgment. I have always strived to be a role model for my friends, family and fans and have never nor will ever condone drinking and driving. I apologize for all those I have disappointed, including myself.

Chances are, if you out until the early morning, especially in Hollywood, you've had more than 1 drink throughout the night.

Does she go around LA in the early hours of the morning, searching for check points to cross or something? Of course you're going to "willingly" drive through one, you can't pull a u-turn if you think you wouldn't be able to get through.
Check points are pretty general - it's not like they give a sobriety test to every single car that goes through. She had to have said something/ did something to get the attention of the officers.
Idiotic move. Both drinking and driving, and putting out that statement.

I was walking my dogs past this check point on Friday night around 1 am (I had been out in Venice that night too and live right near where the checkpoint was). I saw Shayne and actually said hi to her. She was completely lucid and appeared totally SOBER! I am a lawyer and would be the first to badmouth her for a DUI but I think she is completely telling the truth about having one drink. Leave this girl alone. She will def get a reduced charge in my opinion based on the fact that she likely blew a low amount based on her demeanor and admission she had only one drink. Good luck Shayne!
