Hayden is Heroic

The Heroes TV star recently went on a mission to Japan to help save the dolphins. Unfortunately, she and a few of her activist friends got into a violent confrontation with some local fisherman determined to complete their annual slaughter.
The 18-year-old actress paddled out on a surfboard in an attempt to reach a pod of helpless dolphins to stop them from being driven into a nearby cove and killed.
But she and her fellow surfers were intercepted by a fishing boat before they could reach the dolphins. The fishermen used the boat's propellers to block their way and at one point struck out with a boathook.
It was an ugly and potentially life-threatening confrontation that lasted more than 10 minutes before Hayden and crew were forced to return to the beach.
An emotional Panettiere later spoke out about the incident.

Concerned that they may cost them repairing or replacing a net by getting tangled in it…or that they may feed off a few fish that could have ended up in their nets resulting in money not ending up in their blood stained pockets.
So maplesyrup…go back to school- buy a dictionary and a set of encyclopedias and then come back in a few years when you might actually be knowledgable enough to comment on such a sensitive matter and actually have the smarts to back up telling people to shut up and face reality. This is most disturbing because of just how intelligent dolphins are.. It is incredibly nice to see a celebrity using his/her fame to draw attention to something important; something that opens up people's eyes. Well, most people. This is just sad to watch. Dolphins are such beautiful and peaceful creatures.

Actually, you are wrong on this. Mass scale whaling using imported western techniques only became popular in the early 1900s in Japan but whaling as a livelihood is a documented effort since at least 1400s in Northern Japan.
It's kinds of amazing how Americans think it's not a problem in the United States. Have you guys like been to Florida, Louisiana, and all those Southern states on the coast? I've seen plenty of "smoked dolphin" on sale when I'm down there. Why don't Americans every address their own problems - please.

Have you lived in Japan? I honestly feel safer living there than I EVER feel in the U.S. Where did you ever get the idea that Japanese people can do whatever they want without facing consequences? There are police stations at EVERY train station, people do hard time for smoking marijuana, guns are prohibited, etc, etc. The reason why the police aren't doing anything about the dolphin slaughter is because it is LEGAL in Japan. Anyway, I work in a Children's Hospital in a MAJOR American city and believe me there are so many more atrocities happening to children (yes they are cute too) that deserve our attention. Oh yeah, if you bring your child to our hospital there is a good chance that they'll be treated by one of our fine Asian doctors.

It is true about the majority of Japanese NOT eating whale and dolphin meat. In fact, there are warehouse, literally WAREHOUSES FULL of whale meat.
