The Racist Apologizes

Dog the Bounty Hunter is apologizing for his hate-filled speech.
After A&E suspended production on his show, the N-word loving star issued the following statement Wednesday night:
"My sincerest, heartfelt apologies go out to every person I have offended for my regrettable use of very inappropriate language. I am deeply disappointed in myself for speaking out of anger to my son and using such a hateful term in a private phone conversation. It was completely taken out of context. I was disappointed in his choice of a friend, not due to her race, but her character. However, I should have never used that term. I have the utmost respect and aloha for black people – who have already suffered so much due to racial discrimination and acts of hatred. I did not mean to add yet another slap in the face to an entire race of people who have brought so many gifts to this world. I am ashamed of myself and I pledge to do whatever I can to repair this damage I have caused.
In Hawaii, we have something called Ho'oponopono, where people come together to resolve crises and restore peace and balance. I am meeting with my spiritual advisor, Rev. Tim Storey, and hope to meet with other black leaders so they can see who I really am and teach me the right thing to do to make things right, again.
I know that all of my fans are deeply disappointed in me, as well, as I have tried to be a model for doing the right thing. I did not do the right thing this time, and hope you will forgive me. We learn from our mistakes, as my story of overcoming a life of crime has proven, and I will learn from this one for the rest of my life."

If you listen to the long version, he said everybody feels that girl will try to set them up and that the girl attacked Beth. Looks like he was right on the money about the girls character. I don’t know how old his son is but he really needs to listen to his dad about life and the nature of some people.

This apologize seems quite hollow to me. In the conversation he say that they use the n-word around the office. So it appears this is a "normal" thing for them.
One who doesn't use that kind of language in their daily vocabulary doesn't just suddenly whip out the n-word 9 times in a 2 minute conversation because they're anger! If he was concern about the character of his son's girlfriend he should have spoken directly to that issue. If race wasn't the problem then why even bring it up?
He's made a public apology, but what about an apology to the woman this all was directed at? His son's girlfriend who is the one he should be apologizing to.

Wow I see there are a lot of comments on this topic. I use to watch his show as a matter of fact I use to love his show. I thought they were just so cool, and I thought that Dog was such a sweetheart. It really hurts to think there might be some people in my life that I'm close to, and that I may see everyday that could be racist. I used to love watching Dog because what he does is amazing by getting rid of the bad people and trying to get people cleaned up. But I have lost my respect for him when he was here in Halifax, Nova Scotia this summer he caused a lot of problems here on his promotional tour. He was supposed to meet with VIP's before his show and he showed up late so the people who paid over $100 for the tickets didn't even get their meet and greet. As well as they were supposed to get signed copies of his book at the end of the show but Beth was to tired to wait around and he only signed a few copies. As well as someone brought it to his attention that he was supposed to sign everyones book and Beth told the guy to F off in front of his young child. Then they skipped out on their hotel bill because they decided they didn't want to stay over night and didn't tell the hotel till after they were already at the airport. After the hotel paid for extra security in the hotel to make sure nothing happens. The were just over all miserable and now after hearing these racisit comments I think they have just become to big for themselves.

This does not surprise me. The Dog and his wife visited our town a few months ago and the entertainment rep who put the visit together charged this crazy price for a VIP meeting with dog and his wife. Well I guess The Dog didn't feel up to meeting with the people and when people went to speak to Dog about how this entertainment guy charged all this money his wife told them to fuck off and that "he" wasn't meeting with any of them and signing the book.

You know before going to see him on his book tour I would of never expected this from him. I was a huge fan that was let down after spending money to go see him speak about his book. He and his family came off very arrogant, promised to sign autographs to anyone who purchased a book at the show (which where completely marked up), then kept fans waiting over an hour when finally a employee of the arena informed us they took off in their limo after walking off stage. They never issued an apology for this which I thought was a bunch of shit. There were fans in line devestated and children crying, not to mention all the people who wasted money on the books. I lost all respect for that family that night, him being racist doesn't suprise me. He obviously thinks he's a lot better than most people. I guess his true 'color' is finally showing through!
