It has been revealed that Britney Spears's recent failed drug test showed that the mother of two had been taking some kind of amphetamine.
What's an amphetamine?
Cocaine. Crack. Meth. Speed. Etc. Etc.
An insider from Britney's camp (probably that sketchy new guy she's always with) first tried to spin the failed drug test by saying that it was Provigil which may have been detected. But Provigil would not show up on a court-ordered drug test unless they were specifically looking for it.
Now, Unfitney's camp is changing their tune and saying that the drug that showed up may have been Albuterol, an asthma drug. It has been reported that Britney does not have asthma but she merely uses inhalers as an appetite suppressant.
Albuterol, however, is not an amphetamine, and the class of drug that showed up on Spears' failed drug test is an amphetamine.
This idiot that is speaking for Spears trying to make things better should just shut up. He's just making things worse!
Britney and Kevin's lawyers are expected in court tomorrow, Wednesday.

Albuterol wouldnt show up on a drug test reguardless to say, i have been taken that inhaler since i was 6 years old BECAUSE I ACTUALLY HAVE ASTHMA, and i have been drug tested and i passed and was taken my inhaler. Also Albuterol doesnt suppress your appetite, infact it just helps u breathe better and thats its. Albuterol is just a mild steroid to treat asthma, I'm certain of it as I'm asthmatic. It has no addictive quality to it. I think it would only otherwise be prescribed if Britney had bronchitis. But in some instances, all she would have needed to say is that she has asthma, and many non respiratory docters would prescribe it…anyway, it's clear based on her appearance that Britney is one something, just look at her skin.

Re: hok1n – Not quite. Meth is a type of amphetamine… the term "amphetamine" refers to a class of compounds that are stimulants to the central nervous system. Amphetamines can be prescribed, ala Adderall (although prescriptions can certainly be abused), or they can be illegal, such as is the case with meth. If she'd passed drug tests in the past and now has failed one, that certainly suggests that she either recently started some prescription or she is using something illegal. I just completed a masters in psych and had to take courses on addiction and psychopharmacology (psychiatric drugs) for my degree, so I do understand the functions and side effects of different amphetamines. I'm not her doctor, but her behavior certainly suggests to me that either she is on a prescription stimulant and is using it in excess of what a psychiatrist would prescribe or she is using an illegal stimulant, such as meth.
And Perez, the other readers are correct, cocaine and crack fall into another category of drugs, not amphetamines.

If you are on certain medications (prescription)…it can show up as an amphetamine….if it is meth…it will be shown as a methamphetamine. Please please please get facts straight before you write about them. I'm sure she probably does do meth…but many prescription meds can detect traces of this "amphetamine". We shall see.

Perez, I love you, but you really need to educate yourself. Lately, your blogs have been so incredibly narrow-minded! Amphetamines can be found in lots of drugs– both illegal and perfectly legit. MOST drugs prescribed to those with ADD or ADHD use this substance to some extent in their prescribed medicines. Although I completely agree with you that Britney is a trainwreck, you often seem misinformed and uneducated by ONLY reporting certain aspects of a story that make is seem earth-shattering, when in reality, she could be taking a completely legal drug (although, she should have told her lawyer/judge about this prescription since ADD drugs are commonly misused and misunderstood).

it could also be any type of ADD/ADHD medicine. or a false posative. uppers like that stay in a persons system for 3 days. what do you mean if they wer precificaly looking for it? if you take any kind of upper it will show up as amphetamine, so if your prescribed to somehting that will show up on a drug test then its going to show up under that catagory. for example I have a prescription for vicodin and i am on probation (MIP=alc) i take drug tests and they always "fail" for Opiats, which could be heroin… but its okay bc i have a prescription for something that makes opiats show up on the test… sooo to tell if she is doing drugs look up her medicine and see if it would cause her to fail the drug test

Re: Kimmer – yes, i was actually thinking of that earlier. she died using the same inhaler my dad did. she used it to get high. some inhalers have a stimulant like caffeine. ive noticed a difference btwn my inhaler and my dad's…i'm wired if i ever take his…i cant sleep, my mouth feels weird from the spray. btw, i use his inhaler if mine runs out and i havent gotten it filled yet. but that rarely happens cuz i hate the taste of other inhalers except my own.
