Marie Osmond's son, Michael, is in rehab.
He's only 16 years old!!!!
The devout Mormon released a statement on Wednesday, saying, "My son Michael is an amazing young man shown through his courage in facing his issues. As his mother I couldn't be more proud of him. The press and public has always been kind and gracious in the past and I know they will continue to respect our privacy during this time."

Perez, you're such an idiot. She said she's proud of him for having the courage to face his issues, not that she's proud of him for being in rehab. You're not a parent so you'll never understand a the love a parent has for his/her child, no matter what problems he/she has. A mother's love is unconditional.

While a bit harsh of Perez, I feel he gets to the heart of the issue that her 16 year old going into rehab is a tragedy shared by many families. And the problem is beyond putting it on the kid by putting it out there he's this lone independent sole realizing he's got a problem and TCB. For a 16 YEAR OLD KID to be going into rehab is a majon issue beyond the kid and Mom needs to get off the 'Dancing With the Stars' gig and get her ass back to her son and multiple children she's reproduced.
She has one biological child and seven adopted. She has tossed two husbands to the curb. SHE is fucked up. No wonder her kid is a SCREW BALL !

Marie's children are really something. Two of her teen-age daughters were on their my space pages talking about how freaky they are. How much they love sex and all.
The caption should be: "what's wrong with this picture?" For starters, maybe she should not have released a press release about it. Who would have found out or cared if she hadn't? And then maybe she should have thought about it before having so many children to raise. My guess is that Marie is not a very good mother at home–all sweet and bubbly in person but I think she's probably a very difficult person. Hey Perez–There are A LOT of great families out there, with great support systems, and even with that, kids get mixed up in the wrong crowd, and get in touble. It is part of growing up…making mistakes. You can't blame Marie for everything. She stated that her son was having issues with being adopted recently, and she is going through a divorce. Being a teenager is hard to deal with these days, never mind adding the extra stress of adoption and divorce. Give this woman a break!

I had the extreme pleasure of putting my (then) 17 year old brother in rehab a year ago. Our parents were so overcome with grief that I was the only one who could "handle" the situation. (I am 12 years older than he.) My brother is one of the most amazing people I have ever had the pleasure to know. I am more proud of him than ever before, it takes a huge amount of courage to admit you have a problem. Our parents are the most loving and wonderful people and the fact that my brother had a coke addiction has NOTHING to do with how they raised him. Good kids make bad decisions all the time. Marie is a kind soul and deserves more than being called a "dumb bitch". Grow up.

In addition to rehab there should be mother, son counseling. There's probably something missing and he's trying to fill the void. If parents don't hear the child when they're crying out (acting out) their peers will and they will help them fill that void with something ( good or bad). Being a practicing Mormon, I can assure you that this is not the case. Our religion is built on making choices, and while it's true that things like smoking, alcohol, premarital sex and divorce are advised against, they will not cause you to be "kicked out" of the church. People have problems, no matter how rich they are or what religion they believe. First and foremost we are human, and humans make mistakes.
I wish the best for anyone who is dealing with a personal addiction, no matter what it may be.

Clearly you don't have children and clearly she is not proud that her son is in rehab. What she is saying is that she had an unconditional love for her son not matter what and that whatever mistakes her may make in life she will always love him and be proud of him. Also making the decision and commitment to go to rehab is not easy and at the tender age of 16 she is also proud that he is seeking out help. Why any woman or minority would be part of that church is beyond me. And, don't respond to me that I know nothing of the LDS religion. I know enough to think it's retarded, ritualistic and archaic. Plus, I lived in SLC for a couple years. I HAD to get the hell outta that place. Talk about living in a bubble…. i think there are the responses on here about Mormonism because they typically have a holier than thou and separatist attitude in general. I am sure they have choice words for unconditional marriage (unless it involves a 13 year old girl and 40 year old man) and will throw in "because the Bible says" and "sanctity of marriage" all over the place, but is divorce condoned? Or, is that one of those exceptions in religion. if it's too hard to follow we will just change the rules. The disgusting people who live in places like Colorado City practice true Mormonism. It cracks me up how "modern day" Mormons will try to separate themselves from the polygamists, yet Brigham Young's house is a revered attraction in downtown SLC and statues of him and Joseph Smith can be found around town.
