Bitter, Party of One
William Shatner has not been asked to make a cameo in the new J.J. Abrams-directed version of Star Trek, and he's mad!
The film will tell the story of a young Kirk and Spock, and Leonard Nimoy will reprise his role as the pointy-eared Spock in the film. Several other original cast members will also have small parts in the film. But not Shatner.
"How could you not put one of the founding figures into a movie that was being resurrected? That doesn’t make good business sense to me!," the actor tells TV's Extra. "I’ve become even more popular than I was playing Captain Kirk. I’m good box office and I get publicity…. But, they are going in a different direction and it’ll be a wonderful film.”
Girlfriend, simmer down.
Maybe they're not asking you back cuz of your major 'tude????

Denny Crane !
dont knock bill!
he killed his wife, that's why
maybe it's because he looks like a stuffed pig! Captain kirk was slim and in shape lol duhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh can you say "porky pig" The other old castmembers kept themselves in shape.
He is captain fucking kirk and he has a right to have an attitude so shut your whore mouth.
Why would they want a fat old blob of shit in their movie. At least the others have taken care of thier selves. he doesn't look like he used to. Duh.
I wonder if Shatner's toupee is stitched in?
guess those girdles don't pay for themselves…
Re: renn –
James Doohan did'nt like him either
I think because of the fact that he looks more like Fred Flinstone than Captain Kirk would be somewhat confusing to all concerned.
SHUT UP! aiighhht? lol sorry im bery sensitive abut shatner, first off hes canadian…which is sick and second he donates so mcuh to different awesome causes like mcgill which has a shatner building…so give him a break and do smthing with ur lives! i dont see a perez university building….however it would be quite cooll…..??
Re: Trek Insider – Well, that's junior high style payback, isn't it. Do you feel better? I've read nothing but raves regarding his professionalism. Are you certain that old gossip isn't just a case of the green eyed monster? He DID get the bulk of the attention, being the Captain and all.
Fans loved him in that role, and that's the point here, not backstage cattiness, which would be a very unprofessional reason to exclude THE Captain Kirk. Even if a tiny bit of the rumours were true, it's that kind of ego that made him so good as the Captain, and he is SOOO changed now, and wiser, so pfffft.
I agree with him- how do you make a Star Trek movie and not have Captian Kirk?! He's pure badass!
i worked with him at 2 events, and out of all the celebrities involved- he is known as the biggest pain in the ass to deal with. and his face is always red from drinking.
