Nicole Richie and Joel Madden are using their celebrity for good, and that's always a wonderful thing.
The parents-to-be launched their new Children's Foundation on Monday afternoon. They held a press conference at the Los Angeles Free Clinic in Hollywood.
Nicole and Joel donated 100 Mom-to-Be kits to the Los Angeles Free Clinic.
Hopefully they will continue to be active in their philanthropy!

Yeah, pregnancy really agrees with Nicole. She looks much better pregnant than not.

On Nicole's paternal side the Escovedo clan are a mixture of Creole, African American and Mexican ancestry, so yes the Mexicans are in there. Her mother is Irish. She is a beautiful composite of four ethnic groups. The actress Rosario Dawson is also of a similar background, minus the Irish.

Great thing they're doing, and I agree that Nicole looks fantastic, but everytime I look at Joel I flash to the Rocky movies. Is it just me????
What in this world has this no talent girl every done? She got knocked up while in one of her drug stupors and that makes her so very special….yeah, right. An look at that piece of trash that claims to be the father…..that arm looks really nice and impressive….hope the baby does not come out with those tats all over it. These people are trash, she is still smoking (really cares for her baby) and you talk like they are heroes. Get a life people, she is not beaming……like she has stated publicly……she hates being pregnant and can not wait till it is over!

For #5 Kellyn = Yes, she is half black and half white, she has a beautiful color and thank God Black in her keeps her from turning into WHITE TRASH like her co-horts. This girl has come a long way, has always been upfront and ready to face and learn from her mistakes. I hate prejudiced people!

Have you ever been pregnant? The most loving and devoted mother-to-bes have said they hated being pregnant! It is hard work, a joy but a stressful time. Toward the end, you can't breathe because of lung pressure and may have to sleep sitting up. Give her a break. She's human and it's obvious they love this child and are embracing the change in their lives! God Bless them!

Nicole Richie was born Nicole Camille Escovedo. Her biological father Peter Escovedo III, Mexican, African American and Creole, and her biological mother is African American who was a backstage assistant. Her biological father and her aunt, Shelia Escovedo aka Sheila E toured with Lionel Richie. She was raised by Peter until she was 2 and that was when she was adopted by Lionel and Brenda. If you are going to make a big issue of her ethnicity please get your facts straight. There is a reason why she identifies herself as African American. P.S. Being of Aztec descent myself, Mexican is really comprised of three ethnicities Native American, Caucasian AND African American. Please learn your history before making inaccurate statements.
Only question lies here is why on smoking gun.com arrest records is she labeled white? Nicole's ancestry is of great fabulous successful muscians as you have so correctly stated and she should be very proud of not only her adopted parents but her biological parents too! Sheila E. Rules!!!!!!

I am praying that after she has her child, it will motivate her not to go all bulimic again and stay off heroin forever so she can set a good example for her child. I never cared for Nicole but I got to admit she's the most beautiful pregnant mommy in Hollywood. She's so tiny and her belly is just the right size and she's just about due. She looks better than ever. She's changed alot too. I'm glad they are giving back. Kudos to you both.
