For all of those who don't know who Pimp C is, let me try to enlighten you. He was one half of the two man southern rap group, UGK (Underground Kingz). UGK, unlike the current southern rap revolution, is one of the most influential rap groups of all time. UGK has been around since about 1987, so they are well respected by all in the industry for their longevity and skill.
Now, in my opinion, Pimp C was the less skilled of two rappers in UGK (the other rapper being Bun B), nevertheless, with his death, one of the only sources of high quality southern rap is now gone.
UGK's most recent album, Underground Kingz, which was released in 2007, debuted at #1 on Billboard charts, and was widely received as a massive success by the group.
Hopefully, I have educated some people as to who this man was and the enormous influence he has had on rap.

For all of those who don't know who Pimp C is, let me try to enlighten you. He was one half of the two man southern rap group, UGK (Underground Kingz). UGK, unlike the current southern rap revolution, is one of the most influential rap groups of all time. UGK has been around since about 1987, so they are well respected by all in the industry for their longevity and skill.
Now, in my opinion, Pimp C was the less skilled of two rappers in UGK (the other rapper being Bun B), nevertheless, with his death, one of the only sources of high quality southern rap is now gone.
UGK's most recent album, Underground Kingz, which was released in 2007, debuted at #1 on Billboard charts, and was widely received as a massive success by the group.
Hopefully, I have educated some people as to who this man was and the enormous influence he has had on rap.
