Jimmy Kimmel is spilling the tea!

On Monday, the funnyman took time during his opening monologue for his hit late night show, Jimmy Kimmel Live!, to address the "crazy" mix-up that went down at the Oscars. As you surely know, there was a HUGE onstage blunder when Warren Beatty and Faye Dunaway mistakenly called out La La Land as the Best Picture winner — when in reality the film Moonlight was the victor.

If only that Best Picture snafu happened at the beginning of the Oscars telecast!

Because despite an evening full of twists, Mean Tweets, and Matt Damon digs, the 89th Academy Awards didn't do so hot in the ratings department.

According to the early numbers from Nielsen, the nearly four-hour show averaged an overnight 22.4 rating in metered market results, making it the lowest rated Oscars in NINE years!

This year's show dipped 3% from when Chris Rock hosted in 2016, which saw a 23.4 rating — or roughly 34.43 million viewers.

Despite ranking as the longest in 10 years, Sunday's Jimmy Kimmel hosted ceremony surprisingly did not see a dip in viewership towards the end, but remained steady throughout the ABC broadcast.

Most people tuned in during the 9 o'clock EST hour, well before the now-infamous Best Picture mix-up that will undoubtedly go down in Oscar history.

However, 2017's ceremony was still 10 million viewers shy of those who tuned in to 2014's Ellen DeGeneres hosted show, which was the highest rated broadcast in the 21st century with

We'll never forget the historic mistake made at the Oscars with that whole La La Land/Moonlight fiasco.

However, the Best Picture mix-up of 2017 wasn't the first time the wrong winner was announced at the Academy Awards!

The Academy made a similar blunder in 1964 during the Best Music Score category, but presenter Sammy Davis Jr. handled the situation much better than the seasoned Warren Beatty did on Sunday night.

Back then, presenters were handed the winning envelope by an offstage handler right after announcing all the nominees.

That method didn't bode well for Davis, who tore the envelope open to read the winner — John Addison for Tom Jones — before quickly returning to the podium to admit he was given the wrong envelope, quipping:
