Remember When American Idol Ended 3 Seconds Ago? It Might Come Back On NBC…

Does Ryan Seacrest need the work that badly?

We thought we'd seen the last of American Idol after FOX canceled the OG primetime singing competition last year.

But not even a year later, NBC is already talks to revive the hit series!

According to Variety, the peacock network has been pitched a new and improved version of the singing comp by producer Fremantle and is deciding how to integrate Idol to its programming — which already features two of the highest rated singing competitions on air.

Insiders say one benefit of rebooting Idol would be cutting The Voice from two cycles a year to just one — giving audiences a break from Adam Levine and Blake Shelton's banter, which would prolong the show's life in the long run.

Even though Idol's viewership declined in its later years, no one can deny the ratings powerhouse it was for well over a decade — not to mention, giving us actual stars like Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood, and Jennifer Hudson.

NBC is keeping things hush for now, but we have a feeling we Idol will be making sweet music again sooner than later.

Relive the some of the craziest Idol moments (below)!

Some coaches already have the key to winning The Voice… but Alicia Keys has DJ Khaled!

The rapper and A+ Snapchat user is one of the four superstars who will mentor the contestants on season 12 of the NBC singing competition!

While we're excited to hear what advice the All We Do Is Win performer has to give, he's hardly the only superstar advisor on the books.

Also set to aid the coaches next season during the Battle Rounds are John Legend, Luke Bryan, and… Celine Dion!

That's right! Queen Celine will be in the house to dispense her sage singing wisdom!

The Taking Chances songstress will be paired up with Gwen Stefani, while Legend assists Adam Levine; Bryan will obviously ride with fellow country crooner Blake Shelton.

Gwen and Celine went on Friday's Today show to promote their partnership on the upcoming season — and the No Doubt frontwoman made it clear the other judges should be very envious of her "prize" of a mentor.

We'd certainly be! Ch-ch-check out the video (below) to see Celine tease her upcoming appearance — and catch the return of The Voice February 27 on NBC.
