Almost exactly three years to the day after the original filmed opened, and plenty of rumors about things being in the works, The Equalizer 2 has a release date!
And even better than that, superstar Denzel Washington is on the docket to return to the sequel, where he'll hopefully save more young girls like he did for Chloë Grace Moretz in the first film!
Now, Columbia Pictures and Village Roadshow have officially set the date for the sequel, which will land in theaters on September 29, 2017!

As of yet, no director or additional cast has been confirmed, though Antoine Fuqua — the man who directed the first flick in the Equalizer franchise — is currently working with Washington, again, on a remake of The Magnificent Seven.
Still more than two years out, it's going to be a long wait to see Denzel beat up on Russian gangsters and serve vengeance against evil again, but if the sequel is anything like the original, we're going to be in for a fun time at the theater!!!
