Twas a Duets reunion Monday night!
Kelly Clarkson was pumping the Hollywood Bowl UP with her powerhouse performances, but she really made the crowd go wild when she brought John Legend on stage!
Everyone was so surprised when her co-judge started singing with our Idol lass.
Feel bad cuz you missed out? No worries, we have the performances for you! Catch You Don't Know Me (above) and Don't You Wanna Stay …AFTER THE JUMP!
J ROME!!!
Not surprisingly, Jennifer Nettles' long-standing frontrunner took home the grand prize of bragging rights and record deal with Hollywood Records.
His reaction was priceless! Wanna see it?? Do it, do it (above)!
While Robin Thicke and John Legend's Duets partners were booted off in earlier episodes, Kelly Clarkson stood a chance at being the proudest stage mama for Jason Farol.
But unfortunately for Kelz, Jason came in third place. Instead, the Sugarland queen bred a 1st and 2nd place winner for Season 1.
How ’bout that!? CONGRATZ, J ROME!!!
He did it! He made it to the final three!
On this week's Duets, Jason Farol showed his confidence with Kelly Clarkson through the soulful, jazzy Me & Mrs. Jones!
But as much fun as he's having, he's got some stiff competition in Jennifer Nettles' contestants — especially J Rome!
Robin Thicke's advice? Use a lil' more naughtiness… Ha!
Ch-ch-check it outtt (above)! So what do ya think? Can he can beat J and John Glosson???
With both of her contestants left, Jennifer Nettles is the #1 bet to win Season 1.
But that didn't stop John Legend from proving he and Bridget Carrington are still in the running for the first Duets championship!
Now, Nettles' mentees have consistently remained strong in their performances. But as much as we've been pumped up before, their latest presentations were
Don't tell John or Kelly, but it looks like Jennifer Nettles might just take the Season 1 trophy on Duets!
With four contestants remaining, the Sugarland songstress is the only mentor left with both of her little grasshoppahs!
As we discussed yesterday, Robin Thicke lost his last mentee (though we're pretty sure producers will keep him on with special guest performances… if they're smart).
So now with only four remaining, half of the show belongs to JenJen! And she's not losing steam!
…but this week, she was just rocking steady. In this week's episode,
Poor Robin Thicke! Both of his contestants are GONE!
Fortunately for us, the Duets producers know better than to leave him in the rain! A yummy morsel like that without any airtime? Blasphemy!
So instead of performing with eliminated partner Olivia Chisholm, he got to sing with Sugarland's Jennifer Nettles!
Watch the two play around with each other (above)!
Hopefully the producers keep this up ’til the end of the season… half the reason we watch is ThickeLove!
Duets is down to the Final Four!!
And Kelly Clarkson's partner, Jason Farol, is Feelin' Good. As he should be!
They made the jazzy Nina Simone song all their own with their cool moves and sultry voices. (Though we have to say, the Michael Buble version is still our favorite. Ha!)
But these two lit up the stage like some moonbeams on a summer's night!
