Pras is a wise, logical man.
The former Fugees member is pretty confident that even though Lauryn Hill has been sentenced to 3 months of hard time, she probably won't have to serve it.
How did he come to this conclusion??
Pras explained:
"I doubt she's going to do three months. Listen, if Lindsay Lohan doesn't do any time than why would she do time?"
Good point!
Lauryn would NOT be the first celeb to be released from prison early!
Why should stars like Lindsay Lohan get off for their reckless run-ins with the law and not Lauryn??
Not to mention — while tax evasion is a MAJOR offense — this is Lauryn's first time in front of a judge and it was a completely non-violent charge.
We suppose we'll just have to wait and see how long the soul sista is forced to wear an orange jump suit.
But do YOU think Lauryn deserves three months of jail time??

There’s no denying that Lauryn Hill has had it rough lately, with being sentenced to jail and all that, but she’s thankful her fans have had her back the entire time!
Last night, using social media outlets, Lauryn publicly recognized all the people who sent letters to the Judge on her behalf. And it was quite a lengthy list!!
She additionally posted the following message along with that list:
Ugh!! Her life is like a roller coaster right now!
We're super stoked Lauryn Hill pushed out her first single in years, but the release is bittersweet because it came out the same day a judge sentenced her to three months in prison for tax evasion!!
Ch-ch-check out Neurotic Society and try and guess what she's pissed off about (above)!
We're happy Lauryn is back blasting bad-ass new tunes, but it doesn't sound like any of those lyrics are coming from a place of love.
On Facebook, she released this statement:

Holy shish kabobs, we can't believe this is really happening!!
Lauryn Hill was just sentenced to three months in jail for tax evasion!!!
She claims to have paid the gov't her $970K in back taxes BEFORE the sentencing, but apparently that didn't sufficiently impress the judge!
Now the phenomenal former Fugees star faces a three months stint in a federal prison and will spend another three months on house arrest after that!!
Damn!! That hurts!!!
The 37-year-old star knew she was in hot water after pleading guilty last year to several counts of tax evasion on earnings of around $1.8 mil, but we doubt she expected this outcome!!
Lauryn delivered a statement in court today and compared her situation to slavery — she said:

Lauryn Hill speaks!!!
It has been reported that Lauryn has BIG problems with the tax man that could land her in the slammer unless the payday from her new record deal saves her from being thrown behind bars, but what does Miss Hill have to say about the matter??
The former Fugees frontwoman has revealed that *GASP* not everything is as it seems!
In regard to the DEEP financial debt she's found herself in, Lauryn explained:

Apparently, Lauryn Hill and taxes do not mix. But unfortunately for her, that’s not really an option.
The former Fugees singer, who has been looking at three years in prison due to tax evasion, could in fact avoid her time inside thanks to a $1 million Sony record deal.
Lauryn owes close to $504,000 in federal taxes on her $1.8 million income earned between 2005 and 2007. But things were looking up at her Monday proceeding in Newark, New Jersey.
Assistant US Attorney Sandra Moser said that Lauryn’s five song Sony deal could be the solution. Judge Madeline Cox decided to postpone the singer’s sentencing until May 6th, giving her the added time to pay off her taxes. The Judge said:

Phew! That was close!
Famed R&B artist Lauryn Hill was almost sent upstate to the pokey today after pleading guilty to evading the tax man from 2005 to 2007!!!
In fact, she was sentenced to prison, but her magician of a lawyer bought her two extra weeks to try and raise the $968K she owes her favorite Uncle Sam!
Her sentencing is set for May 6 and apparently Mrz. Hill will try everything from taking out loans to inking
