As Katy Perry enjoyed drinking and mingling with other celebs at Elton John's Oscar party, the singer saw one thing she MUST have:

As Neil Patrick Harris beat boxed to Cat and David Burka's rendition of Snoop's Drop It Like It's Hot, Katy got feisty and bid 50,000 bucks on the lessons.

Movie producer Steven Tisch went on to bid 80,000 as Katy was forced to concede. A fellow party-goer said the following on the auction:

Neil Patrick Harris and his committed partner David Burtka walked the red carpet in style at the Elton John AIDS Foundation Academy Awards Viewing Party!

David, an E! correspondent, taped the Oscar pre-show in the afternoon, then headed to the music icon's annual event to watch the Academy Awards in style, writing on Twitter:

"The pre show was a blast. I wish I got to do more. Now we are on our way to the Elton John viewing party! Woohoo, what a fun day!”

Yeah, we're pretty jealous of this couple's life! Ha!

That's the burning question facing the creators of the show as How I Met Your Mother goes into its 8th season. All this time, it seemed understood that the show would finally end when Ted actually met the bother of the children he's been boring with stories for the last eight years. But according to executive producers Carter Bays and Craig Thomas, should the show get ANOTHER season renewal after next year, they might consider finally bringing the mother in.
