Last month, we learned that NBC had picked upRoseanne's "comeback comedy" pilot called Downwardly Mobile, which revolves around "the proprietor of a mobile home park and surrogate mother to all of the people who live there during a challenging economic time."
At the time, we said the following about the show:
Anyone who knows anything about Roseanne knows that she is not a person to shy away from controversy. Also, she has no problem telling people exactly what she thinks of them and does on a consistent basis. But her "I don't give a shiz" attitude has landed her in hot water with fans of Bey, after she went on a Twitter rant insulting the diva.
In Roseanne's opinion, President Barack Obama was wrong to ask Beyonce to sing Etta James's iconic At Last song at his Inaugural Party in 2009, rather than asking Etta herself. After Etta's passing was announced, she quickly rehashed the issue on her Twitter page, showing no mercy to the President or Bey. She wrote:
Nutty Roseanne has put her reality TV chapter behind her and is focused now on returning to her roots - sitcoms!
NBC has just picked up what some are considering Roseanne's possible "comeback comedy" called Downwardly Mobile. Ro will star (and write and executive produce) as the "proprietor of a mobile home park and surrogate mother to all of the people who live there during a challenging economic time."
Yep. Sounds about right to us. Throw in John Goodman and a few white trash jokes and it's the 90s all over again!
This may hopefully bounce the fourth-place network back to its former glory. If anyone could make a show like this work, it's Roseanne!
"I am old now: gray, wrinkled, tired, and bloated, and my joints ache, too. But I am ready to come into my full destiny—as my childhood dreams predicted—as a Neo-Amazonian Pirate Queen of my own vessel: firing cannonballs at the worldwide culture of patriarchy in the name of all that does not suck. I no longer fear moving on to a better existence than this one, which is, of course, no existence at all. Oblivion will be fucking sweet after a lifetime at the mercy of my hormones and my biological clock and the twisted logic that produced the craving for a dominant male sex partner. I’m quite thrilled to say that at this late hour, in my autumn years, I have at last found a man who is more savant than idiot, and with whom the sparse occasions of physical enjoining of souls is quite sublime."
That's what you get for marrying the star of She-Devil!!
Roseanne Barr's baby daddy wants her to pay him $175,000 for the legal fees and pain he suffered during their long custody battle.
He thinks it's only far, considering it's only 0.02% of her fortune.
The ex couple settled their custody issues over their teen son, Buck, a couple months ago, but her ex, Ben Thomas, claims Roseanne's efforts to strip him of custody were only motivated by revenge (again, he really should have watched She-Devil). So, to get back at her he wants the extra cash.
Here's the kicker: On top of his settlement, Ben claims he makes $7,305 a month! That's over 87 thousand a year! WTF?
Our verdict, he can totally afford his own lawyers.
We knew she'd bounce back quickly after the cancellation of Roseanne's Nuts!
Back in August, we heard that Roseanne was developing a new sitcom called Downwardly Mobile, which is about "a close-knit blue-collar family living in tough economic times."
Roseanne Barr's Lifetime show Roseanne's Nuts has been canceled after just one season. She announced the news via her Twitter, thanking her fans who tuned in and promising that she's still going strong.
But of course! She has a Presidential campaign to plan! That can keep a girl pretty damn busy! Just look at her Twitter feed (below)!
We're sorry to hear about the show, Ro. Maybe another network will pick it up? Something to look into!
The Luxor headlining illusionist was recorded having quite the verbal altercation with Joe Monti, one of his magic producers on Wednesday, during which Angel is heard threatening to knock him out - and now he's had a police report filed against him!
Give it a listen (above)!
Furthermore, Monti later said to authorities that he recorded the meeting because Angel has a history of bullying employees!
He explains:
“I wanted him to know how demeaning he was. I created 50-60 percent of the magic for ‘Mindfreak.' I have no reason to do anything vindictively but I draw the line on violence.”
