Cynthia Nixon's got a political fire lit inside her — and she's using it to spit deadly flames at New York gubernatorial opponent Andrew Cuomo!

On Wednesday's Late Show, the Sex & The City alum told Stephen Colbert she's "aware of the dubious nature of [her] last name" — but she'd also rather be "the good Nixon than the bad Cuomo." Destroyed!

What a get for Wendy Williams!

On Wednesday morning, Cynthia Nixon stopped by Wendy's nationally syndicated talk show to give her first TV interview since launching her gubernatorial campaign. It only makes sense that the NY governor hopeful stop by the Wendy Williams Show as it's New York AF.

And the 53-year-old didn't hold back with her line of questioning, as she asked Cynthia to address all of the chatter about the Sex & The City alum being just a "celebrity candidate." On those questioning her qualifications, the New York native noted:

Cynthia Nixon can't fix all that Sex & The City drama, but she can still take a crack at fixing the actual city!

On Monday, the actress and activist announced that she would be running for New York governor against current Gov. Andrew Cuomo in a Democratic primary.

While polls indicate Cuomo is still quite popular in the state he's governed since 2010, Nixon will likely have the support of NYC Mayor Bill de Blasio – and, more importantly, Sarah Jessica Parker.

Two strategists connected to de Blasio have joined Nixon's campaign, and her wife Christine Marinoni recently left her job as an education adviser in de Blasio's administration.

Does she have a shot at winning? Only time will tell — but her connections alone already make Nixon a more qualified candidate than these other celebs who tried to pivot into politics…
