himself has not officially retired from the game, sources close to his team are saying he will make the announcement when he is inducted into the Sting WWE Hall of Fame this April.
The 25-time champ may not be able to play due to his cervical spinal stenosis, but at least he wasn't more badly

's musical Sting The Last Ship is setting sail and heading away from Broadway.
Ticket sales were dipping, so Sting himself actually joined the cast, as we

But even adding Sting to the musical he wrote wasn't enough to drive people to the theaters.
Jeffrey Seller and Kathryn Schenker, the show's producers, said:
The Last Ship is a Broadway musical by 16-time Grammy winner !! Sting
What could've been an incredible show by an amazing artist turned out to be pretty underwhelming — we even reviewed the entire thing

The play is pretty bleak and it takes a stab at being something great, but it just sadly falls short.
So we're not surprised by this move: Sting is joining the cast!!
