Hmm... Where have we heard this before...
Does Scientology entirely depend on Tom Cruise??
Leah Remini went on HBO's Real Time and talked candidly to host Bill Maher about the religion on Friday night — and some of the things she had to say about Cruise and the church were fascinating!!
The full interview can be seen here (above), but even within it, there are a couple of major points upon which to focus: namely, how Remini alleges that it's Cruise himself who could end all the Scientology controversy — and the religion itself.
Here's an interesting interchange on that exact subject (below):
The actress dated the American Woman singer back in 2003, and told the mag that it wasn't weird to work with the musician's daughter Zoe Kravitz for her new HBO miniseries Big Little Lies because it was a "family affair":
People has learned Tom Cruise's mother, Mary Lee South, passed away at the age of 80. The former special education teacher died in her sleep last week, and a memorial service was held at her local Church of Scientology this weekend.
The 54-year-old Mission Impossible star and his sisters Lee Ann DeVette, 57, Cass Mapother, 55, and Marian Henry, 52, all attended the service alongside family and friends.
Mary was credited as the driving force behind Tom's acting career.

Leah Remini has been dropping a sh*t ton of shocking details in her docuseries Scientology and the Aftermath — and this Q&A installment, co-hosted by fellow former member and Church executive Mike Rinder, is no different.
In Tuesday's episode called Ask Me Anything, Part 2, the 46-year-old actress answered a series of fan-submitted questions on social media alongside special guests: Going Clear author Lawrence Wright, lawyer Ray Jeffrey, and cult behavior and deprogramming expert Steve Hassan.
At one point, the panel turned to former Scientology exec Debbie Cook, who claimed she had to commit acts like LICKING THE BATHROOM floor while serving time in "the hole" after she allegedly violated a non-disclosure agreement. OMG!
Cook was sued by the church and transported to a double-trailer complex for allegedly sending out classified information via a group email. The lawsuit was later settled in 2012.
Also in the episode, Miz Remini opened up about her exchange with her The King Of Queens costar Kevin James about the religion.
At the time, Leah said the devout Catholic actor wanted nothing to do with Scientology:
Having sex with your spouse can be tricky when you have kids nearby.
Recently, the Moulin Rouge star sat down with radio and TV personalities THE MOMS where Denise Albert and Melissa Musen Gerstein ask the Australian babe how she is able to have "alone time" with the musician when they are with their children.
Miz Kidman replies:
As you may know, the actress turned 38 on Sunday — and it sounds like she had quite the weekend celebrating between her secret maybe-boyfriend and her daughter, Suri Cruise!
