Universal is pulling out all the stops to reboot its new era of monster movies!
Last month, it was reported that the studio was in talks with Tom Cruise to produce and star in a Mummy remake — which would launch an Avengers-style multi-verse and have cross-over capabilities with other monster movies!
And Universal has already been trying to woo another A-list actor to step to take the leading role of Bride of Frankenstein: Angelina Jolie Pitt!
The By The Sea writer-director-star has been rumored to be in talks to star and direct the film about the undead newlywed, and execs are doing all they can to charge up her enthusiasm!
Most recently, Universal tapped legendary writer David Koepp to pen the script of the remake — whose past work includes writing Spider-Man, Jurassic Park, Mission: Impossible, and War Of The Worlds!
Angie is supposedly waiting to read the script before she makes her decision. If all goes well for the studio, Koepp will craft a script so brilliant that she'll just have to say yes!
We're not sure how we feel about a multi-verse of monster movies yet, but we think Jolie could do amazing things with this role!

The nominees for the Critics' Choice Awards were just announce and we're pretty happy with the results!
George Miller and Tom Hardy's Mad Max: Fury Road ended up being the biggest winner as it leads the list with 13 nominations which include Best Picture, Best Actress for Charlize Theron and Best Director for Miller.
After taking the Online Film Critics Society Awards by storm this weekend, the Oscars buzz for the flick is as loud as a flamethrowing guitar!
But don't worry, if you are a fan of Carol, The Martian, or The Revenant, then you'll be pretty pleased as each of those flicks nabbed nine nominations!
This year Fargo ended up landing the top spot in television with eight and The Leftovers and Transparent are both right behind the FX drama with six.
But the best and most surprising nominations were You're the Worst, The Knick, and the much deserved Best Drama Series nomination for Rectify!
Ch-ch-check out the full list of nominees (below) and let us know if you agree!
You live, you learn!
"I don't regret anything that I've done. I've learned from everything, and everything sort of leads you to the next place. I just keep going."
Cruise and Holmes share their nine-year-old daughter Suri, who reports claim hasn't seen her father in nearly 800 days. Meanwhile, the 36-year-old actress admitted that being a mom is her number one priority:
"Being a parent also is a source of inspiration to just work really hard. You want to set an example — and, you know, [your children] are what drives you."
Since her very high-profile marriage and split from the Mission Impossible star, the Dawson's Creek alum says she leads a very "normal" life, and even takes public transportation:
We hope this isn't true!!
"He doesn't seem interested in being part of Suri's day-to-day life. Katie does her best to be a hands-on mum but there's no replacing her father. He hasn't been seen in public with his daughter in over two long years – that's a fifth of her lifetime."
And to top off, the 53-year-old actor has reportedly not spent any time with the nine-year-old due to his involvement in Scientology. Since Katie opposes the religion, the leaders have supposedly told the Mission Impossible star to keep his distance.
Fingers crossed little Suri gets to see her daddy for Christmas — goodness knows she deserves some face time.
Not every studio is hopping on the superhero movie bandwagon!
It's been reported that to help launch its new era of monster films, Universal is rebooting The Mummy!
And according to Variety, Tom Cruise is in talks to star in the leading role!
Last summer, the studio assembled a team of Star Trek producer Alex Kurtzman and Furious 7 writer Chris Morgan to develop a multi-film universe where Universal's classic monster movie library can be resurrected!
The studio is trying to develop a Marvel or DC Comics style universe for its famous characters — but instead of Iron Man and Thor, it will be Dracula, Frankenstein's monster, and The Wolf Man!
So basically, Universal's answer to The Avengers films is the cast of Hotel Transylvania? LOLz!
As for The Mummy reboot, Cruise will reportedly play a major part in development of the revival. The plot is still under wraps (get it?) other than that it will be set in present day, not like the previous Brendan Fraser-led installments!

And in the process, the actress also revealed some pretty crazy stories about the religion's poster boy Tom Cruise! In excerpts from the tell-all, the 45-year-old recalled the movie star flipping out over things as simple as baking cookies!
Now that the book is out, the Mission: Impossible star is worried.
We still can't believe some of this stuff!
Leah Remini's tell-all book, Troublemaker: Surviving Hollywood And Scientology, about her accounts of being part of the Church of Scientology just dropped on Tuesday.
Leading up to the controversial book, Leah had done quite a bit of press for it, including an interview with 20/20.
Not only did she reveal to the host that she's given the Church of Scientology "millions" of dollars, but she talked a little bit about her relationship with John Travolta and dished that Tom Cruise's probable relationship with Suri is based on the church's policy.
"Well, she's a baby. She's a child. She doesn't have a choice. No, but the policy of the church is that you can not be connected with someone who has committed a suppressive act. Which I have. Katie (Holmes) has. For the church policy, you have to shun that particular person."
Ch-ch-check out the rest of the interview (below) and hear Remini answer a caller's question about having regrets about Scientology!
