Akon Brings The LOLs

Filed under: Music Minute > Akon > Lady GaGa

akon-talks-about-gaga-album.jpg

This isn't the first time Akon has mentioned Lady GaGa's new album Born this Way, but sources say he hasn't heard it!

So, we're wondering where all this talk is coming from.

In a new interview this week, he said:

"Well, Gaga and her follow-up, I've definitely heard [it], and what I can really tell you about it is the fact that I'm excited — and I'm hard to excite. I'm really hard to excite, ’cause my big question was like, 'Wow, how are you going to outdo yourself on this one? Do you realize how big you are? Do you know how big you really are? How are you going to outdo yourself?'

She's very creative. She will always find a way, always. Honestly, I think these are just appetizers as to what's to come, because what's to come, if you haven't been following her up to this point, you're going to get completely lost. Like, she is amazing when it comes to just taking things to the next level, [and] from what I've heard so far, I think she's going to be all right.

If I was going to compare it to her previous work, I would definitely say it's a notch up. It's like she's slowly taking you on to this journey down this road. If she were to just drastically do it, she probably would have lost everybody from the first album, but once the sound was created and established, now we can use that as a tool to grab all the monsters and walk them down this graveyard. It's crazy. It's amazing."

We haven't heard it either, but we can't wait.

One thing is for sure - someone's sure got a crush on GaGita!

Akon Disagrees With will.i.am's Stance On Michael Jackson's New Album!

akon-disagrees-with-williams-stance-on-michael-jackson-posthumous-album-release

will.i.am recently spoke out against the new, posthumous Michael Jackson album, Michael, claiming that the pop icon would not have wanted material that he hadn't given his okay on released, but now Akon, who is featured on the new single, Hold My Hand, has publicly disagreed!

He says:

"I don't see anything disrespectful about it … these albums would have come out if [MJ] was alive or dead so I think this helps to keep his legacy alive."

Inneresting perspective!

What do U think?? Is it appropriate for Sony to release a new Michael Jackson album without his consent??

50 Cent, Akon, & Lenny Kravitz Make Appearances On New Michael Jackson Album

michael jackson collaborations and track listing announced

Looks like we've got yet another reason to be skeptical about Michael's new album.

The official track listing for MJ's album Michael has been released, and it features collaborations with 50 Cent, Akon, and Lenny Kravitz.

We're not 100% convinced that 50 Cent should be part of Michael Jackson's legacy, but what's done is done. You never know…they MIGHT surprise us.

Michael's collaboration with Akon, Hold My Hand, will be the album's lead track.

Here's what Akon had to say about the song:

"The world was not ready to hear 'Hold My Hand' when it leaked a couple years ago. We were devastated about it. But its time has definitely come; now in its final state, it has become an incredible, beautiful, anthemic song. I'm so proud to have had the chance to work with Michael, one of my all time idols."

Guess we'll have to wait and see how the song's progressed.

Here's the official full list of tracks for the album:

"Hold My Hand" (Duet with Akon)
"Hollywood Tonight"
"Keep Your Head Up"
"(I Like) The Way You Love Me"
"Monster" (Featuring 50 Cent)
"Best of Joy"
"Breaking News"
"(I Can't Make It) Another Day" (Featuring Lenny Kravitz)
"Behind the Mask"
"Much Too Soon"

What do U think about these collaborations on Michael's final album?

Finally! 'Nye Gets A Release Date

wenn5546435.jpg

Kanye West will be releasing his fifth and untitled album on November 22nd!

And it comes at a good time! It is right before everyone starts their holiday shopping, but he'll have to compete with the likes of Ne-Yo, Flo Rida, Nicki Minaj and Akon. All of them have albums coming out the same week.

Something tells us that Yeezy will do just fine!

Quincy Jones Got Wino In The Studio!

winowenn2973492.jpg

Imagine how difficult that must have been!

It's been a very, very, VERY long time since Amy Winehouse has released any new music. To be fair, she's been busy. Whiskey doesn't drink itself, you know!

But Quincy Jones is celebrating his multiple decades creating beautiful music and Amy will be a part of that celebration. With the help of Mark Ronson, Wino recorded a remake of the classic It's My Party for a special album commemorating all of Qunicy's past hits. Other artists contributing to the album are Usher, Ludacris, Akon, Jamie Foxx, Jennifer Hudson, Mary J. Blige, T-Pain and LL Cool J.

This should be interesting! Maybe after this, she'll sober up long enough to make her own album.

We won't hold our breathe on that though!

Akon Sued For Pulling Out Of Belgian Concert

Filed under: Legal Matters > Akon

wenn2847102.jpg

Club promoter Lofraco Belgium is suing Akon for flaking just eight days before his scheduled performance in Belgium last October.

Ha. Love the name.

The promoter claims that the show was supposed to feature two performers on Akon's label Konvict Muzik: Kardinal Offishalll and Colby O'Donis.

He is suing for breach of contract, fraud and concealment. And not only is Belguim asking for his $250,000 in expenses back, but he wants a couple million in punitive damages.

Yikes! Commit to your shiz, people.
