Akon Given Easy Sentence

wenn22165132.jpg

As we mentioned earlier this month, Akon's court date with a Fishkill Town Justice Court had been postponed ’til today.

The singer's assault trial came as a result of a June 2007 concert, when Akon threw a 15-year-old fan from the stage.

This morning, Akon pleaded guilty to second-degree harassment.

Akon paid a $250 fee and was also sentenced to 65 hours of community service.

Talk about getting off easy!

Akon's Trial Postponed

akon-guilty.jpg

Akon won”t have to sit in court….just yet.

The singer's assault trial, scheduled to commence on Monday, in Fishkill Town Justice Court, has been postponed ’til December 17th.

The trial comes as a result of a guilty plea to charges of endangering the welfare of a minor, which occurred during a June 2007 concert when Akon threw a 15-year-old fan from the stage.

At the later court date, it will be determined whether or not the case can be taken care of without a trial.

We think Akon should be banned from performing for his own good - something always seems to go wrong!

Akon To Leave Country if McCain Wins

wenn52012932.jpg

We hate it when celebutards do shit like this!!!

In a recent interview with the UK's The Guardian, Akon opens up about what he'll do if McCain wins the presidency.

According to the musician, he'll give up his citizenship and return to Africa!

Seriously.

Can we buy you a ticket back???

Akon says, "If he [Obama] doesn't get into office, I'm gonna change my citizenship. I'm moving back to Africa. You can hold me to that. I'm afraid to live there if he [McCain] is President. The decisions he makes scare me: he's making selfish decisions, he's doing whatever it takes to get into office."

So insightful.

As for those bad decisions, Akon says one of them is selecting Palin as his running mate.

He adds, "I don't think he's going to last eight years so she's definitely going to be president. Oh my goodness - that's scarier. And who would be her running mate? Joe the Plumber?"

Ha! Ok, that was pretty funny.

Akon continue, "I'm very afraid. If the people don't see [that life in America will deteriorate under McCain], then that's a dangerous place to be for the next four years. I can't even envision how bad it's gonna be. I see it now - like, I'm driving down the highway, and I see cars parked with their emergency lights on because [people] can't afford to buy gas. You've got families walking, carrying infants to the next exit to take a taxi, because the taxi will get them home cheaper than the gas."

Akon also thinks the last elections were fixed.

He says, "I really, really hope that Obama gets in, but I don't want to jinx him. It's too early to say, because I do

He's such a thinker!

We don't wanna see McCai win, but - if he does - Akon better get packin'!

Going To Trial!

wenn1935444232.jpg

As we mentioned last month, singer Akon was due back in court today on charges of harassment and endangering the welfare of a minor.

Remember, in June of 2007 Akon threw a 15 year-old concertgoer off the stage in a misguided display of machismo.

Well, today the judge decided that Akon will stand trial in December.

He's likely to face up to one year and 15 days in jail if convicted.

He might just pay up and settle out of court if his odds of going to jail are great.

The victim, now 16, also appeared at court today with his parents. The kid and his mom declined to comment, but his dad did say, “We didn’t expect this to happen. We’ll see.”

As for Akon, his people have issued their own statement.

It says, “We are pleased that Judge Epstein adjourned the case to a date certain for either a trial or a negotiated resolution. Akon looks forward to putting this incident behind him, and in the meantime he will continue to meet every requirement set forth by the Court.”

Akon is due back in court on December 1st if they don't settle before.

He'll settle!

No Show

zeeexy__opt.jpg

As we mentioned last month, Akon was due in court Wednesday to face criminal charges.

However, he was a no-show.

Naughty. Naughty!

The judge has ordered him to appear in court on September 3rd for a possible deposition.

If no deposition is needed, then Akon's case will be put on the trial calendar.

The case stems from last year's incident when a crazed Akon threw a 15 year-old fan off stage at the 2007 KFEST concert in June.

Akon was last in court in December of 2007, when he pleaded not guilty to the charges of second-degree harassment and endangering the welfare of a minor.

As for today's outcome, Patricia Smith, the mother of the boy tossed, says, “I’m glad because it either goes to trial next time, or he fesses up to something.”

No need to fess up - just pay up!

Free. For Now.

zeeexy.jpg

Akon is getting one more month as a free man.

The criminal case against the singer has just been adjourned today until next month, on August 6th.

The case stems from last year's incident when a crazed Akon threw a 15 year-old fan off stage at the 2007 KFEST concert in June.

In December of last year, Akon plead not guilty to charges of second-degree harassment and endangering the welfare of a minor.

Currently, he could face 1 year and 15 days in jail if he gets convicted.

As for the boy's mother, Patricia Smith, she attended the case hearing this morning and called it "pretty typical."

She adds, "People can just hang in there long enough until the case goes in their favor."

True.

Do U think Akon should be held accountable?

'Koned!

akon.jpg

Looks like hip hop 'bad boy' Akon has been blowing a lot of smoke up our asses.

The Smoking Gun has unearthed police, court and corrections records that prove the multi-platinum musician 'created a fictionalized backstory that serves as the narrative anchor for his recorded tales of isolation, violence, woe, and regret. Akon has overdubbed his biography with the kind of grit and menace that he apparently believes music consumers desire from their hip-hop stars.'

Liar liar pants on fire!

So, there was no conviction and he wasn't 'locked up' between 1999 and 2002.

Duped by marketing again, kids!

The Smoking Gun also expresses shock that the media, and especially the music press, failed to take 'Kon to task on his claim before they did!

Akon's manager declined the offer to comment on the exaggerated, embellished, and/or wholly fabricated claims SG discovered. His record rep failed to get in touch before the story went to press.

We're disappointed but not shocked.

C'mon…we live in a world where we have to ask if what we're watching on TV is reality or 'real' reality!

More Trouble Follows Akon

akon.jpg

Akon's free concert at a shopping mall in Copenhagen, Denmark, on Wednesday erupted into a riot.

Did he hump someone else on stage???

No.

His Danish fans got all violent when police tried to evacuate the venue due to a fire alarm alert, which went off three songs into Akon's set.

Violence escalated once everyone was outside as concertgoers started throwing rocks and drinks bottles at the po-po.

Luckily no serious injuries were reported.

A bit of trouble was brewing even before the concert started. Capacity at the venue was 1,000…3,000 people showed up!

Also, what the heck was Akon doing performing at a mall concert????

Simmer down, Ashley Tisdale!
