The 70-year-old released a video statement on Wednesday night explaining her organization's efforts to give back to her hometown by promising to give $1,000 a month for six months to all the families in need.

The A-lister ventured to his alma mater to give young knowledge-seekers a safe trip back to where they live, by driving them around in a campus cart.

The star's safe chauffeur duties were in conjunction with the student government's SURE Walk initiative, in which the Students United for Rape Elimination agency offers volunteer companions for anyone walking home from 7 p.m. to 2 a.m.
