After the Oscars revealed all 20 of its actor nominees were white, everyone from Jada Pinkett Smith to David Oyelowo to even the President of The Academy of Motion Pictures Arts & Sciences have voiced frustrations about the lack of diversity in the prestigious institution.
Now, George Clooney, the unofficial mayor of Hollywood, is adding his two cents — and he agrees that "we are moving in the wrong direction."
Speaking to Variety, the Oscar winner said he thinks the lack of minority nominees is largely due to the little options minority actors have playing roles in "quality" films!
In case you missed it, on Sunday the Best Actress in a Comedy winner called out at a reporter for being on his phone while talking to her during the press conference. The 25-year-old actress was heard telling the man:
"You can't live your whole life behind your phone, bro. You can't do that, you've got to live in the now."
The reporter dug himself an even deeper grave when he brought up the Oscars — to which the Joy actress quipped:
"We're at the Golden Globes. If you put your phone down, you'd know that."
The people of the Internet went off in a frenzy for J.Law's "scolding" of the reporter, claiming that she went too far. Others claim the situation was taken out of context and that Amy Schumer's bestie was clearly joking.

Shortly after Thursday morning's announcement gave an interesting mix of first time actors and Academy veterans, stars released statements expressing their honor and gratitude!
A-listers like Leonardo DiCaprio and Jennifer Jason Leigh were quick to thank the directors of their respective films, while Brie Larson admitted she was so overcome with joy after getting nominated she was "shaking!"
