The Devil Told Oprah She Was Too Fat!

oprahwintour.jpg

Before appearing on the cover of Vogue in 1998, the mag's editor-in-chief, Anna Wintour, "suggested" to Oprah Winfrey that she drop a few pounds!!

"It was a very gentle suggestion," Wintour tried to sugarcoat the advice during her 60 Minutes interview on Sunday. "I went to Chicago to visit Oprah, and I suggested that it might be an idea that she lose a little bit of weight."

You don't say?!

Anna continued, "I said simply that you might feel more comfortable. She was a trooper!"

Did the Big O lose her shiz at the famously blunt editor-in-chief???

Hardly!

"She totally welcomed the idea, and she went on a very stringent diet. And it was one of our most successful covers ever," Wintour exposed.

Not surprising!

When the HBIC of Vogue tells you to jump, you ask how high!

Wintour Still Not Leaving Vogue, She Says

Acclaimed Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour gave a rare appearance and interview with Jonathan Tisch this week in New York. The woman behind the glitzy pages of Vogue discussed having Michelle Obama on the cover, the recession, and how the magazine has changed in the last 25 years.

But the big question was would the mastermind behind Vogue stay in her current position or move on?

Her answer: "I think that I have the best job in the entire world. To be honest, I don't think I'd be very good at anything else!

Yeah you do! We wish someone would just bring us clothes all day and ask our opinion on them.

That is a sweet job! Do it until you're dead.

Naomi Snubbed Met Gala! Why?

508804172.jpg

Naomi Campbell isn't as cold-hearted as she appears to be. She's actually got a little bit of human kindness in her.

Monday night, several celebs and fashion insiders attended the 2009 Metropolitan Museum of Art's annual Costume Institute Gala in NYC.

The evening had several high and low points, with notable designers such as Marc Jacobs and fashion editor Anna Wintour in attendance. Though noticeably absent from the event was fashion designer Azzedine Alaïa. None of his dresses were even exhibited in the Model As Muse exhibit.

So why not invite one of the top designers to the event? Alaia blames it on Wintour. He stated in a recent interview that "She has too much power over this museum." Seems Anna's not a big fan of his.

So Alaia decided to ask seven models who were going to wear his designs to the show, not to wear his creations. One of those models included Naomi Campbell.

So instead, Campbell decided to skip the whole event!

Campbell has reportedly been a "muse" for Alaia for the past 23 years and even lived with him in Paris when she started her career and has been known to call him "Papa." A rep for the supermodel said Naomi "feels she doesn’t want to attend unless she can represent his work." Also not in attendance due to Alaia's snubb was Stephanie Seymour,

However, Met exhibit curator, Harold Koda, is defending Wintour (he knows what's good for him) and claiming that The Devil had nothing to do with the situation and he apparently just didn't include Alaia's work figuring the designer wouldn't agree to be part of a group show.

Riiiiight. Cuz calling to find out would have been too much work, right?

Either way, kudos to Campbell for sticking up for her designer!

Advertising in Conde Nast magazines is way down!

While the industry is down 24 percent in ad pages so far in the first quarter, many of Conde's titles are down 30 percent or more!

What the Devil Wants, the Devil Will Surely Get

wintour.jpg

An eveasdropper at the William Rast fashion show on Monday in the NYC picked up some good juice!

Backstage, Vogue editor Anna Wintour was overheard asking her daughter Bee, "Who is that singer who talks about kissing girls?"

That's Katy Perry! Duh.

Well, after Bee gave mom the name, the devil went up to William Rast mastermind Justin Timberlake and said that he and Katy should do a spread together for an upcoming issue.

Justin and Katy in Vogue would be hot!

If they know what's good for them, they surely wouldn't turn the devil down, right?

The Devil is Looking for Two New Assistants

Filed under: Media Minute > Anna Wintour

annawintour__opt.jpg

According to reports, two of Anna Wintour's three assistants are leaving soon, and Vogue is looking for two good candidates.

The news was shared via email to NY's savvy media set:

Hi guys,
Sorry for the mass email. Two of the three assistants in Anna Wintour's office are leaving soon and Conde Nast is starting to look for candidates. If you know of anyone that may be interested in applying have them shoot me an email and I can put them in touch with the right person in HR.

Some experience in fashion or media is good. Smart, well-educated, calm, etc…

Let me know if you can think of anyone.

Thanks!

Three??

We thought she only had two buttgirls (or boys), like in the movie!

How sad is it that our perception of A-Dubs' reality is guided by the Devil Wears Prada?!

The fight for these two jobs so needs to be captured on tape!

Adele Charmed the Devil

adeleanna.jpg

Grammy-nominated Brit songstress Adele has succeeded where many have failed. She has found acclaim in America AND she has charmed Vogue boss Anna Wintour!

Adele will be appearing in an upcoming Vogue spread shot by famed photog Annie Liebovitz, the singer reveals.

At one of her fittings for the shoot, she was summoned to meet with Miz Wintour. Said Adele about the meeting:

"It was just like 'The Devil Wears Prada.' It was amazing. I was really frightened and I went in and she was so nice. She was like, 'What labels do you like?' I was trying to make up these designers that I was quite sure I had read in 'Vogue' or something before."

The Vogue editor has also offered to style the Brit singing sensation for the Grammys this Sunday.

Adele reveals, "I got a really nice dress. I don't ever wear dresses. I wear dresses with tights and flat shoes and a cardigan. But I am going to get my boobs out and everything. It's going to be quite a big deal."

We can't wait to see the Adle/Anna collaboration!

Big girl, you are beautiful!

Let's after-party at the Butterfly Lounge!
