After announcing her split from Kris Smith just last month, the former X Factor UK judge has decided to stay put in Australia.

Though rumor has it that Simon Cowell has been wanting Dannii to return to the show to replace Kelly Rowland, the single mom wants to focus on her 22-month-old son, Ethan!

This is not very good news for koalas and their fans alike!

The cutie animal is set be listed as a threatened species by Australia. Koala numbers are dwindling, especially in Gunnedah, a formerly koala heavy area that is now 75 percent less than its population in 1993.

Koalas will be listed as endangered in Queensland and vulnerable in New South Wales east of the Great Dividing Range, but activists don't think this is enough.

Environmentalists believe that Parliament wants to protect mining interests with these areas, so some areas in need of protection will still be compromised.

But Environment Minister Tony Burke wants to ensure the public this is not the case.

He states:

I've heard very clearly from the community that people want to make sure that we protect the koala, one of Australia's most iconic species.

'We know that koalas are under pressure in some parts of Australia while they are abundant in others.

But I can't provide a blanket threatened species listing across Australia when there are many places where koala numbers remain high

Sad...everything possible needs to be done to help the koala!

Safety standards should be FOLLOWED!

First we heard about one KFC being in huge trouble for serving GREEN CHICKEN, now we're hearing that they're being fined in Australia for food poisoning!

Maybe the fact that a judge just ordered them to pay a $8 million fine down under will make them wake up. The Sydney girl that got food poisoning ended up brain damaged after eating one of their chicken wraps, and she was in a coma for months in 2005.

It just sucks it took this long for them to get justice!

But not-so-fast family that needs the money: KFC is still denying responsibility and says it's going to appeal.

Gross.

It's not like KFC doesn't make enough money to cover that!

Gotye is now calling Darren Criss an a**hole?!!

Oh, we jest! Well, he technically did… but not in a BAD way.

At an intimate radio session in El Lay yesterday, Gotye attempted to explain away his anti-GLEE remarks concerning the Darren Criss & Matt Bomer cover of his mega-hit, Somebody I Used To know.

If you are unaware of the contentious remarks, he essentially insulted the GLEE sound and seemed to call our beloved Darren Criss ‘dinky’.

BUT, apparently (as is so often the case) Gotye insists his remarks were taken out of context:

Hugh Jackman will find his surroundings QUITE familiar this summer!

Australia has beaten out Japan and Canada for The Wolverine's production location due to very lucrative incentives.

The Aussie government will do a one time payoff of 12.8 million shrimps on the barby dollars to start shooting in Sydney come August. In other words, they REALLY wanted this movie to shoot down under!

The funny thing is … The Wolverine could have received more taxpayer funding, but it didn't qualify as an Australian production, despite Hugh being a producer and the star of the film.

Was he not Australian enough? LOLz!

Looks like Gossip Girl’s Chace Crawford has been bit by the love bug!

Reportedly, Chace recently became smitten with Australia's Next Top Model contestant Alyce Crawford (no relation!), who has been linked to Leonardo DiCaprio in the past!

The two were introduced while Chace was in Australia this past weekend by their mutual friend Noah Tepperberg and quickly became infatuated with each other!
