Nothing like some retail therapy to help get into the holiday spirit!
While former Vogue editor-at-large Andre Leon Talley may have hesitations about shopping Jay Z’s holiday collaboration with Barneys after the store’s racial profiling scandal, Lea Michele has decided to support the cause!
The Glee actress was spotted touting the special “BNY NYC SCC” bags, created specially for the store’s Shawn Carter Collection as she left the retailer on Sunday. So hopefully some of the profits from her purchases went straight to the Shawn Carter Foundation, just as promised!!
She chose a casual cute outfit for her Beverly Hills shopping spree, wearing jeans, Zadig & Voltaire booties, and a sweater. Lea accessorized with a scarf, shades, and a black Givenchy crossbody bag.
Hope she treated herself to something special!!

Though Jay Z has decided to go ahead with his Barneys collection following all the racial profiling controversy, prominent figures in the African-American community have criticized his decision.
Andre Leon Talley, former editor-at-large for Vogue, recently said:
Wife of the year!
Beyoncé is helping her hubby Jay Z promote his new holiday collaboration with Barneys by posing in some of the covetable pieces. If anyone can make people wanna buy this stuff, it's Queen Bey!
The singer wears a black and white Moncler leather sleeve varsity jacket with leggings and a Just Don leather Brooklyn cap that covers up her new platinum hair color, looking pensive against a white background.
In case you're wondering, that jacket will set you back about $2,295 while the cap retails for $875. But can you really put a price on something endorsed by Hov and a bright blonde Bey???
Plus, 100% of the proceeds from the sales will go to benefit the Shawn Carter Foundation, which provides scholarships for disadvantaged youths. Spending money for a good cause is the BEST!
Barneys released the following statement regarding the collection:
Jay Z takes racial profiling VERY seriously!!
And now that Barneys is facing lawsuits and discontent from the general public after their employees were accused of racial profiling, HOVA is in NO mood to celebrate!
Bey's boo was all set to party with the Barneys elite Wednesday night, but now that the heat has reached its height, a rep from Barneys has now stated:
When Jay Z’s fans created a petition to end his relationship with Barneys after multiple accounts of the store’s racism, we bet they never expected him to get THIS involved!
Major props to HOVA for sticking up for his followers!
After his initial response to complaints and lawsuits directed toward Barneys and the NYPD when they tried to arrest black customers leaving a store with their purchases, the rapper posted an update on the situation to Life + Times last week.
He eloquently wrote:
Dakota Fanning spent Saturday with her friends roaming the streets of NYC, just like a normal nineteen-year-old!
Except this teenager was dressed to the nines in an all-black ensem, consisting of a black Sandro jacket with trimmed collar and a black top with a T by Alexander Wang pleated skirt that she wore with opaque tights.
Boy was she lookin’ fiery, especially with her leather Barneys New York over-the-knee boots and quilted Chanel purse!
While her blonde locks were on the messier side, there was nothing messy about the way she put together this monochromatic outfit!!
Chic, chic, chic!

Kanye West is a man of many contradictions!
Only last week he ranted to his Vegas fans about the Barneys racial profiling controversy, and yesterday he was spotted at the very retailer he was ranting about!
'Ye paid a visit to a Barneys in Los Angeles, and left the store decked out in self-promotional Yeezus attire. He then made his departure even more conspicuous by hopping into the matte black Lamborghini Kim Kardashian gifted him for his birthday last year.
It doesn’t look like he left with any hefty shopping purchases, but he was carrying what seemed like a receipt and some change. He must’ve gotten something!!
Wonder what it was??
