It's coming together, Al - and so far, so good!

The Phil Spector murder trial HBO project is finally starting to take off. The script is complete, Al Pacino is secured for the lead role in the biopic and the production has nabbed two excellent actors for two important roles.

Bette Midler and Jeffery Tambor have both signed on for flick. Bette will play alongside Al as Linda Kenney Baden, one of Spector's defense attorneys in his trial for the murder of actress Lana Clarkson. Jeff will play defense attorney Bruce Cutler.

And who, may we ask, gets the play the part of Spector's hair?! It's the most important role in the whole film, if you ask us! LOLZ!

Did you love the 1988 movie Beaches starring Bette Midler??

Of course you did! (Even if you cried)

How's about the novel it was based on?

Of course! (Even if you cried)

Well the new news is that the author of that novel, Iris Rainer Dart, has recently written a Broadway debut musical, and the next musical on her list after that trial run is to bring Beaches to the stage!

She'll be co-writing the libretto with Thom Thomas (fab name) and the music with David Aaron Austin, with Leonard Foglia attached to direct!

Sounds ab-so-lutely great to us! Beaches is one of our favorites!

Let us know when it's done, casted, and when we can buy tickets!!

Love her!!!

Bette Midler was spotted checking out the Broadway show Priscilla Queen of the Desert Saturday night and a reader exclusively told PerezHilton.com that she was rocking out!

The reader says she was singing and dancing along to the show, but was also watching the audience very closely to see what their reactions are. (She's one of the producers of the show!)

Bette didn't have time to chat with fans though and apparently jumped from her seat and booked it to the backstage area during intermission.

That's okay, Bette. We know you're a busy lady!

We would just LOVE to hang out with her one day!

OH EM GEE!! Could this mean a First Wives Club sequel??

Bette Midler herself is weighing in on the Grammy performances, and most specifically, Bob Dylan's!

Here's the slam via Twitter:

"Did Bob Dylan forget the sound check? did the engineer drown him out on purpose? a word to the wise: Quit smoking, babe."

Ouch!

While we agree that Bobby didn't sound his absolute best, we were still very happy to see him up there performing!

Especially with those tasty Mumford & Sons!

But we agree with you Bette, bb, he probably should stop smoking! Yuck!

Oh no! Two of our favorite ladies are at odds! What are we to do???

The uber-talented and epic diva Bette Midler told British magazine that she's unimpressed with the magic Lady GaGa creates.

To fair, she gives GaGalicous props for her "beautiful voice" and talented songwriting skills, but when she compares GaGa to her favorite artist, Grace Jones, Bette feels GaGa falls short. Bette was quoted as saying:

"She's a terrific player, has a beautiful voice and is a good songwriter. The stuff around her? Nah, not so much. I have my heroines and one of them is Grace Jones, and I don't think anyone could touch Grace."

Sure, okay, fine. Maybe she can, maybe she can't. Personally, we think you have to respect each of them for their own unique styles and bringing something different to art of music. Neither should be labeled better or worse than the other.

We've seen a lot of celebs a lot younger look a lot worse that dear Bette Midler without the aid of foundation!

Bravo for her for stepping out to prove it!

With that said, it couldn't hurt to have thrown a little coverup on, just around the eyes! She just looks so tired!

Bette was spotted leaving the Ivy in London last night without any makeup on, but still smiling ear to ear.

That's the way to be, ladies! Just be happy with yourself! Take a cue from a diva!

A lucky, lucky Seinfeld!

How many people can say they've been where he's been in this picture! Jealous!

Over the weekend, Jerry Seinfeld hosted the opening night gala at the National Museum of American Jewish History in Philadelphia. The evening was capped off with a special performance by incomparable Bette Midler and appearance by the exquisite Barbra Streisand.

They all look so FABOOSH! Just getting better with age, ladies!
