Yeah. This is the understatement of the week.

Billy Ray Cyrus really screwed the pooch back in December when he simultaneously destroyed his relationship with his daughter Miley and Disney by claiming that the network destroyed his family, but now that he and wife Tish are hoping to reconcile their broken marriage, he's begun quite the tour of contrition, and is claiming now that he hasn't been a very good father!

He explains:

"I did kind of approach being a dad as a friend. I was a great playmate. I mean, for teaching [my children] how to camp and build fires and ride motorcycles and four-wheelers, and horses, and all those fun kind of things. I was really good at that. As far as sitting down and doing algebra and science, the homework, I wasn't very good at that. So I look back on it and think, 'You know what? Maybe, no doubt, I could have been a better dad.' I love Hannah Montana. I love Disney. I wouldn't change anything. What I meant to say, and what I hope I said was … fame can be a dangerous animal. And it's a delicate thing. You know, when you get in this industry and … you strike so hard for that moment. But, fame is dangerous. Miley has a great heart. She's very intelligent. She will make good choices and she knows right from wrong."

Well, we're glad that he's owning up to his mistakes and attempting to make amends!

We're sure that he was feeling lot of confusion and anger when he made those comments, and we can see how what he was trying to say could have gotten twisted because of that.

We just hope that he and his family can make it through all of this without any more pain or heartache, because if they do, we're sure they'll come back stronger than ever.

Last week, we learned that Billy Ray wanted to call off his divorce to Miley Cyrus' mom, Tish.

Now, Tish has opened up about the subject, and it looks like she's pleased with how things are going for her family.

Here's what she had to say about it via Facebook:

"Big thanks to all of our family, friends, and fans who have kept us in their thoughts and prayers. I feel so blessed to have so much support from all of you."

"Our family weathered a huge storm and I feel we are stronger than we have ever been. Much love to all of you guys! You're the BEST."

As we said before, if the Cyrus' are sincere about being a real family again NOT just for the media's sake, then we're happy to hear that they've been able to repair the damage.

We'll see how things go, but it's def looking better for the Cyrus family then it has in a long time!

Well, isn't this QUITE the coincidence?

On the same day that Billy Ray and Tish Cyrus announced that they would NOT be getting divorced, it's being reported daughter Miley's long-awaited duet with Bret Michaels, a cover of the Poison track Every Rose Has Its Thorn, will be released!

If you recall, the song was supposed to drop last year, but after rumors began circulating that Bret and Tish were having a affair, it was scrapped!

Bret now explains:

"The record label was supposed have to this huge humongous release of 'Every Rose.' It was going to be Miley's next-step song, but because of that, they stepped back."

Well, we suppose that all is well on the Cyrus family front, so why not still try and make a few bucks off the single?

Sure, why not. Whatever problems he and Mama Tish had were obviously solved when he ranted on and on to the press about how he's lost his daughter to the industry and how the Disney Channel ruined his life and so on and so forth. The media blitz is over - back to real life!

Billy Ray Cyrus has confessed to the ladies of The View that he is ready to work on his marriage to Miley Cyrus' mom and intends to call off their impending divorce.

While on the show this morning, Billy Ray opened up about the last few weeks and how his views have changed on his marriage and his relationship with his daughter. He explains:

"I've dropped the divorce. I want to put my family back together … Things are the best they've ever been. I feel like I got my Miley back in a way. I feel like we are the daddy and daughter that we were before Hannah Montana happened."

Well, we're glad to hear that.

If you all can put the past behind you and are sincere about being a real family again, not just one for the media's sake, then we applaud your efforts and wish you all the luck in repairing the damage. Family is very important and we've seen how fiercely protective Mileybird is about her family.

Here's hoping things work out for Tish and Billy Ray, at least for their kids sake.

It makes sense, doesn't it?

Think about it. Reeeeally think about it.

When Billy Ray Cyrus came forward to GQ to slam the days he spent and the people involved with Miley Cyrus' Hannah Montana fame, it was clear that this outburst had been a long time coming. Turns out, however, that Billy Ray's tantrum was more out of jealousy than actual concern for his daughter.

We know, shocker right, but actually, we're a bit surprised. Indeed, the spotlight was mainly focused on Miley all the years the duo were on the hit Disney Channel show, which one source claims "always upset" Billy Ray, but as another source clearly points out:

"Let's face it: Hannah Montana revived his career as much as it made Miley's."

Exactly! The residuals from Achy Breaky Heart were already long gone before Miley put on the blonde wig, so this gig was as much for him as it was for her. Besides, all the years they were at the House of Mouse, Billy Ray got thrown a bone more than once - he always had a storyline on the show, he did MORE than few songs on the show's albums and we're sure he got his share of the limelight at events where Miley couldn't make it.

You need to start being thankful for what you did get instead of what you didn't, Billy. And it wouldn't hurt to keep your mouth zipped from now, if you're planning on riding Mileybird's coattails for a few more years.

Uh-oh! We guess that after that MileyBird was through setting him straight, he realized how inappropriate it was to speak out about their family drama publicly!

Billy Ray Cyrus is seriously repenting for the recent comments he made in an interview with GQ magazine regarding his daughter's success and familial problems, and has stated that he will now focus on fixing those issues behind closed doors (hopefully)!

He explains:

"It is very important to me to work on mending my family right now. My family is the most important thing I have, and we are working together to make sure our future is stronger and healthier. It is all a learning process, and we thank everyone for their support and respect of our privacy as we sort through very important family issues."

We agree! The best thing you guys can do is lay low and focus on one another!

Hopefully this will be a step forward for you all, and the healing process can continue on!

Ouch! We had a feeling she wouldn't sit by idly and let him run his mouth for long!

We heard reports that Miley Cyrus was apparently none too pleased her father, Billy Ray's recent GQ interview in which he lashed out at Disney and Hannah Montana for 'destroying' his family, and now, sources close to the actress have revealed that he ALSO tried to schedule an appearance to do more the same on The View - until she put her foot down!

The insider explains:

"When Miley found out her father was scheduled to appear on 'The View' on Wednesday she went nuts. Only last week, Billy shot his mouth off in GQ, and now he planned to sit down with [Barbara and Whoopi] and talk more crap about his family. No way would Miley or her team let that happen. At first Miley defended her dad, wanting to believe he had been tricked into saying bad things by the magazine. Miley truly wanted to give her father the benefit of the doubt, goodness knows she's said things she wishes she could take back. But after she found out about his media trip to New York, no more excuses could be made."

Unbelievable! We can't say we blame here!

Clearly, this family unit has A LOT of problems, and we want to see them resolved, but Billy Ray is a real piece of work for continuing to air it for the world to see! Especially after years of sitting complacently by while all of this 'destruction' seemed to be happening!

Too little, too late, bb! If you're that concerned, the least you can do is attempt to fix things BEHIND closed doors, out of respect for your child!

So sad.
