Well, apparently, the Fight Club actor feels that by responding to the divorce filing he will spark a nasty legal battle between himself and his estranged wife — a situation he doesn't want to drag his children into.
According to TMZ, the 52-year-old's answer was due to be filed on Wednesday. However, Pitt let the deadline come and go as he's
Brad Pitt is one step closer to mending his relationship with his son Maddox.
As we previously reported, the 15-year-old refused to accompany the rest of the Jolie-Pitt kiddos to an emotional reunion with their famous father earlier this month. This wasn't necessarily shocking news as the teenager supposedly faced off against the Fight Club actor during an alleged plane incident.
As you know, Angelina Jolie filed for divorce from her longtime love after an alleged incident occurred on a flight back to LA from Europe (stopping in Minnesota) — and the FBI has been trying to gather all the facts ever since.
According to TMZ, two officials met with Angie and all the kids for about three hours on Tuesday in order to determine
Brad Pitt & Angelina Jolie’s Son Maddox Refused To Attend The Reunion With His Dad Amid Divorce Drama
According to Us Weekly, 15-year-old Maddox Jolie-Pitt refused to attend the monitored meet-up with Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, Vivienne, and Knox on October 8.
A source close to the actress revealed:
"He chose not to go and stayed with Angie."
While no explanation was given, an insider asserted "Maddox is very close with Angie," while another explained of the 15-year-old's choice, saying:
A 'Happy & Relaxed' Looking Angelina Jolie Steps Out For The First Time Following Her Brad Pitt Divorce Drama
It looks like Angelina Jolie is doing her best to maintain a sense of normalcy for her kids!
On Sunday, Ms. Jolie and her children with the exception of 15-year-old Maddox hit a Malibu area beach for a fun family day. The actress' brother James Haven also tagged along for the casual outing.
In the pics, the mom donned a low-key look complete with a pair of sunglasses, no shoes, and a loose wrap sweater. Let's just say it was the perfect outfit for a cute beach day with her babies!
According to onlookers, the group couldn't have looked more content as they frolicked in the water and sand. In fact, one observer noted how "happy and relaxed" Angie appeared.
As for the kiddos, the source also had good news to share, revealing to ET Online:
"The kids were running around and they seemed happy and to be doing well. Zahara ran out to the beach by the water. The kids were playing on the beach."
Aww! How adorable.
Here's to hoping the family has many more happy days ahead of them — they deserve it!

Mark Billingham, who goes by Billy, spoke to The Sun in a new interview, divulging about the 18 months he spent guarding the Brangelina brood… including how he "fathered them, basically."
Quite the claim!
The former Special Air Service officer revealed how he got close to the family:
"I was Brad and Angelina's head of security. The military set me up perfectly for what I did with them. The biggest concern for them was the kidnapping of the kids, it's all about money."
Billy further continued to explain how he was a trusted part of the team, and especially trusted with their six kids, Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, and twins Knox and Vivienne:
It was being said earlier this month how the Allied actor was able to successfully meet up with their six kiddos for the first time in weeks in accordance with their temporary new agreement.
But according to Us Weekly, sources say the poppa didn't get to see any of the children until Saturday, October 8. On top of that, only some of his offspring were present for the monitored reunion, which had conditions both parties agreed on.
No word on what those were.
As it's previously been divulged, Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, twins Knox and Vivienne will continue to live with Angie until October 20, and Brad is only able to visit under the supervision of a therapist.
The actors both maintain the kids are their number one priority.
We'll keep you updated on any new developments.
