The National Enquirer reporter who checked Brooke Shields' dementia-suffering mother mother out of an assisted living facility last month now wants to tell his side of the story!

Bob Hartlein claims he has been friends with Brooke's mother, Teri, for over 10 years!

The two became fast friends after Hartelin interviewed Teri about her alcohol problem back in 1999. They quickly bonded and Hartelin visited Shields at her home in New Jersey quite frequently, spending visits watching Dr. Phil and talking about classic movies.

Cute!

Bob realized what an odd pairing the two were, saying: "It was an unconventional relationship over the years between the mother of a world-famous movie star and a freelance tabloid reporter. But I always treated Teri with the same warmth, kindness and respect that I do my own mother."

Why did Brooke flip her shiz then????

Well, because he's probably not a real "friend"!

So, if you recall, Brooke Shields was planning on taking legal action a few weeks ago against the National Enquirer because the gossip rag checked her mentally ill mother out of an assisted living facility to "look for a story."

Well, Shields has come to an agreement with the folks over at the Enquirer. And she won!

The actress' attorney, Gerald B. Lefcourt, was able to persuade the tabloid to not publish a story and to issue a public apology!

If that wasn't enough, the magazine has also agreed to "make a generous donation to further research on dementia and to encourage others to do so," says Lefcourt.

Wow!

Although all is said and done, the National Enquirer's explanation of the situation a few weeks ago sang a different tune.

The mag released the following statement after the incident:

"A freelance reporter who has known Teri Shields for more than 10 years visited her Thursday at the assisted living facility where Brooke says she moved her. Teri asked the reporter to take her out to lunch and to run some errands. The freelance reporter then got permission from the facility to do so.

Interesting!

Although we're more apt to believe Brooke Shields over the National Enquirer any day of the week!

In a new interview with Health magazine, Brooke Shields revealed that didn't lose her virginity until she was 22!

Why'd the actress hold onto her V card through her late teenage years and into her 20's?

Brooke believes that "not learning to love the way [she] looked" prevented her from having sex at an earlier age.

WTF? She used to be a model!

"I think I would have had sex a lot earlier… I would have lost my virginity earlier than I did, at 22, [because] I would have been much more in touch with myself," Shields shared with the mag.

There's nothing wrong with waiting awhile to give it up!

Brooke Shields is keeping close to her mama.

After the reprehensible and terrible incident with the National Enquirer, where they practically kidnapped her mother, Brooke is understandably apprehensive about leaving her mom's side.

Shields' mother is diagnosed with dementia and living in an assisted-care facility in New Jersey.

We can't wait to see what Brooke is gonna do to those bastards!

The National Enquirer have never been known for being the most reputable tabloid, but the stunt they pulled on Thursday was downright disgusting!

According to Brooke Shields, two reporters from the Enquirer checked her mentally ill mother out of an assisted living facility in Old Tappan, New Jersey - without her permission, obviously!!!

Explained Shields:

My mother Teri Shields has been diagnosed with dementia. For her safety, she has temporarily been in a senior living facility, a very difficult decision for me. Late Thursday afternoon, I was alerted by Old Tappan Police that my mother had been signed out of the facility by two reporters of the National Enquirer… who falsely claimed they were friends of hers.

Taking advantage of the mentally ill, fellas???

Smooth move!

Brooke continued:

They then drove my 75-year-old mother around looking for a tabloid story. As anyone knows who has a parent who suffers from dementia or Alzheimer's, it is one of the most difficult experiences you can go through as a son or daughter. The idea that the National Enquirer took advantage of her state is reprehensible and disgusting.

We couldn't have said it any better ourselves.

Shields is planning on taking "every lawful action against all who were involved or who authorized this despicable act," and rightfully so!

Police are currently investigating who at the facility allowed Brooke's mother to be signed out by the Enquirer.

Source reveal exclusively to PerezHilton.com the exact details of the Kiefer Sutherland headbutting debacle from last week!

The incident is being investigated by the NYPD and - if the LAPD gets involved and takes action against the actor for violating his DUI probation - the headbutting could delay production on the new season of 24.

Our sources explains that both Kiefer and Brooke Shields were "drunk as skunks" and partying hard the night of the Met gala. It was then that designer Jack McCollough did in fact bump into Shields and she fell, but it probably had more to do with the fact that she was wearing very high heels and was loaded than the actual shove.

Brooke was fine, but Kiefer insisted that the fashionista apologize. That is when Kiefer Sutherland went all 24 on the guy, even after Brooke told him to ignore it.

Headbutting ensued and we know the rest.

Oh, except that Brooke Shields was such a waste case, she didn't remember any of this the next morning until she read about .

AND when Kiefer returned after punching McCollough with his face, he had some blood on his forehead.

Says our source, "Brooke was like 'What is that [to the blood]'? She thought it was a joke or maybe cherry juice and LICKED IT!!!!!"

Brooke has spoken!

And she's siding with Kiefer!

Shields has called the statement her camp gave in response to the headbutt heard ’round the world as "neither true nor authorized" and that "Kiefer has always been a gentleman in her company."

Brooke explained the situation she "was bumped into by Jack McCollough and Kiefer Sutherland became concerned" at a party in NYC last Monday night.

And the 24 star's head just happened to fall into McCollough's nose, right???
