Mad Max: Fury Road heated up the box office, making over $45 million its opening weekend!
So it's no surprise that the critically acclaimed film has already ignited another installment for the hit franchise!
Series director George Miller revealed that upcoming sequel will be titled Mad Max: The Wasteland. The story will follow the events of the latest film starring Tom Hardy in the titular role!
The Wasteland is referred to as the world the Mad Max movies take place in, dating way back to the original 1979 film with Mel Gibson!
Miller admitted that it was thanks to Fury Road's long delay that he now has a trilogy of films planned out. The director explained:
Avengers: Age of Ultron may have dominated the box office for the past two weekends, but that's all over.
That's because both Pitch Perfect 2 and Mad Max: Fury Road bested the Marvel movie in theaters this weekend!
But which sequel performed better??
Macho men boycotting a Mad Max movie for being too feminist??
It really MAY be the end of the world of the world! And we feel fine!
"Male rights activist" (seriously, someone thinks that's a thing!) blog Return Of Kings called on men to ban Mad Max: Fury Road as Charlize Theron's badass turn as Furiosa would lead to more women in lead roles in action movies.
Um, that's an even better reason to see it!
The post reads:
Now this is how you do a red carpet!!
And doesn't this couple look like the epitome of Hollywood glamour??
The film's starlet was a total glamazon in her silky, strapless canary yellow Dior gown, complete with a long luxe train.
Though a diamond necklace probably would have been the perfect finishing touch to her rich look, Charlize instead went with sparkling earrings and a huge rock of a ring on that finger!
Considering she's supposedly not about engagement rings, it's probably not what we think it is — but you never know!
Besides, with Sean giving her all the attention anyway, she was going to be a standout regardless!

Though impractical for the desert, this leather, lace, and fringed frock captures the post-apocalyptic vibe of Charlize Theron's latest film Mad Max: Fury Road!
It really must be all the leather, and the way Charlize wears it like a badass avenger!
Or maybe we're getting carried away with all the hype for the movie.
If you add some thigh-high boots, we could totally see her character Furiosa kicking major butt in this outfit!
Don't you love it when actresses stay on theme even during movie promo???

Jimmy Fallon is always finding new ways to shake up his interviews on The Tonight Show.
So on Monday's show, he decided to play a game of dress up with Charlize Theron — and the outfits were pretty wacky!
The host and guest decided to pick out each other's wardrobes for the night and give each other silly characters. Theron wore an ensemble of metallic duds, gold pants, and a mini top hat resting on a frizzy 80's hairdo!
But the Mad Max: Fury Road star didn't take it easy on Fallon, making him wear a bright pink sweater, faux-fur, and pumps with dice in the heels!
When asked about the outfit choice, the 39-year-old tried to hold in her laughter, admitting:
Get it, girl!
Charlize Theron looked effortlessly elegant at the Mad Max premiere on Thursday, and we're totally in love with her black and white look!
She chose the perfect pair of sky high heels to walk the red carpet, and her blonde locks looked gorgeous.
We don't love the cuff on each hand, but they don't really take away from the outfit as a whole.
Mad Max: Fury Road doesn't hit theaters until May 15, but if Charlize's red carpet is any indication of how the movie is gonna go — we're expecting a blockbuster!
