Cher's new Vegas show is set to open next month, and what's a girl to do to drum up a little publicity???
Talk about her romantic past with Tom Cruise!
The two supposedly met for the first time in the mid '80s at a White House fund-raising event, just after Tom's success with his hit film Risky Business.
At the time, Cher was 39 and Tom was just 23.
In an interview earlier this year, Cher states, "I did date him [Cruise]. He was just the most adorable man you can imagine. He wasn't into Scientology then. I don't understand the whole Scientology thing."
And just recently, when on the Oprah show taping this past weekend, Cher said of Tom, "I was crazy about him."
Cher added, "He was shy. He said he felt like such a boob in school and nobody talked to him. We went on a date once for dinner in a New York restaurant and the waitress was from his old school. He told me she never talked to him back in school, but now he was recognized, he got all her attention."
The two apparently dated for several months. Their relationship ended when Cruise met his first wife, Mimi Rogers, six years older than he was. They were only together for three years.
He definitely used to have a thing for older women!
Cher says, "Dating is a strange thing. It's not every man who can be comfortable with me. Being Cher is a hard thing and difficult for him to hold his place."
As for her relationship with Tom, she adds, "It could have been a great big romance because I was crazy for him."
Awe how sweet, I wonder if Tom will say anything about this?
Maybe! He wants to plug his 25th year release of Risky Business.
Will there be a vintage sex-tape released as well?
