We're sure there's a tight end joke here somewhere…
Well, now that it's been TEN MONTHS since the iconic performance, we officially know why — and as it turns out, it's because Bruno Mars had his hands full with Chris Martin the entire time. Literally!
The British band is currently on the Australian leg of their A Head Full of Dreams Tour, so Chris and lead guitarist Jonny Buckland stopped by The Project on Friday to promote their upcoming concerts.
While the costumes are absolutely incredible, it's really the host and Klum's Chandelier performance that makes this one of the talk show host's best costumes! Seriously, Heidi couldn't be a more HIGHlariously perfect Maddie!
But the ladies weren't the only ones with great costumes as Miz DeGeneres went into her crowd to find some authentic audience costumes, and boy did they find a SPOT ON Chris Martin! Granted, it's because Martin surprised the audience and dressed as himself! LOLz!

It sounds like Jennifer Lawrence has found someone who appreciates the beauty of privacy.
As you know, a pal close to the actress recently confirmed rumors that the 26-year-old and film director Darren Aronofsky ARE "casually" dating. How exciting!
So what makes this new relationship different from J.Law's past flings?
Well, for starters, things are way more relaxed… as they should be!
The Apple doesn't fall far from the tree… and neither does the Moses!
Chris Martin's children showed off their musical talents over the weekend at a fundraiser for the Boys and Girls Club in Malibu — and it's clear they take after their rockstar father!
The Coldplay frontman performed alongside his kids on stage, strumming his guitar and playing the piano as his 12-year-old daughter and 10-year-old son belted out their favorite songs!
While they may not be on their father's Super Bowl headlining level just yet, it's clear these budding performers inherited Martin's musical talents!
Is it too much to ask for an entire family performance next time? We're sure Gwyneth can take a break from Gooping to complete the modernized Von Trapp family vibes we're getting from this.
Either way, we're sure momma would be proud! Ch-ch-check out clips of Martin performing with his kids (below)!
The Little Monsters are NOT going to like this!
On Tuesday, Rolling Stone released their profile on The Chainsmokers who dished about their favorite and — most importantly — least favorite artists.
Ever since the success of their mega-hit Closer, the duo — Alex Pall (right) and Drew Taggart — have mingled with music's biggest names including Chris Martin from Coldplay, fellow EDM superstar Calvin Harris, and Bono from U2!
According to Taggart, Bono "rolled up to our studio, all by himself" and:
"played us some new U2 music. We played him some of our new stuff, and with this one song, he was like, 'That's great – will you send that to me?' Which was so sick."'
However, Alex and Drew aren't fans of everyone. When asked about Lady GaGa's new single Perfect Illusion, Pall flat out said:
Wait, Gwyneth Paltrow has regrets just like us commoners?!
In a profile for LinkedIn, Paltrow opened up about her publication Goop and how it played a factor in her 2014 separation from Chris Martin. While the two have finally divorced and everything is peachy now, the actress still expressed remorse for how she initially handled the situation.
According to the mom of two, she regrets publishing her infamous Conscious Uncoupling article which candidly detailed her plans for the split. The piece received a lot of attention since it strayed from typical celeb divorce statements.
When the 43-year-old was asked if she'd publish the essay again if given the chance, she responded:
While for most of us that means marathoning his classic movies, and James Corden remembered the late actor with a touching tribute, Chris Martin and Coldplay found a more artistic way to honor the legendary comedic actor!
The British rock band paid tribute to the Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory star by slipping a cover of the song Pure Imagination into their setlist Monday night!
The rockers took to Twitter to share the concert clip. Ch-ch-check out the vid (below)!
