Okay. Here are two things we are totally certain about:
1) Claire Danes was the perfect choice for the part of Angela Chase on My So-Called Life!
2) She is TOTES gorgeous in everything that she has ever done!
But back when the teenage angst drama was casting for their lead role, producers had their heart set on someone else for the part!
According to a new profile on Danes in The New Yorker, she almost lost out on her breakout role to a then 16-year-old Silverstone!
Alicia actually auditioned for the part and immediately caught executive producer Ed Zwick's eye. He wanted to give her the gig. But his co-executive producer Marshall Herskovitz reportedly put an end to the idea, saying:
Claire Danes does the two things she does best in the new trailer for the third season of Homeland: brilliantly act and bawl so hard m*therf*ckers wanna find her…then interrogate her, and probably waterboard her after that.
Well, she DOES work for the CIA in the series…
Things we see in this trailer include hairless fugitive Brody looking a little worse for wear, Dana taking a nude selfie a la Anthony Weiner/Vanessa Hudgens (maybe she's sending to Zac Efron!), Carrie and Saul testifying in front of a Senate investigation, and of course, Carrie crying a whole bunch!
Well, we want to cry too because the trailer looks so good!
It's so exciting that it's almost showtime for Showtime's captivating drama again! Didn't it feel like yesterday our world was rocked by the season 2 finale? No, you're, it's felt excruciatingly long since then.
Claire Danes is a working mommy!
By that we mean she's a mother who also works a job!
And one of the best perks of being a mom who works on such a dark show like Homeland is she gets to see her baby right after shooting time!
Here's what she said:
Claire Danes looks SO happy these days!
And we think we know the reason why!
We believe it has something to do with the two men in her life. Her baby boy Cyrus and her hot hubby Hugh Dancy!!!
The happy Homeland star was spotted with her two men at LAX as they awaited a flight to Charlotte!
We wonder what they'll be doing there!!!
Although we didn't get to see an up close and personal look at Cyrus - Claire's facial expressions are almost just as good!
Check it out in the pictures (below) !!!

Don't we all!!!
Claire Danes has killed it for two seasons (soon to be three) as manic but mad-smart CIA operative Carrie Mathison on Showtime’s Homeland.
But as a teenager in the 90s she played manic and madly in love Juliet to Leonardo DiCaprio’s Romeo in the 1996 Baz Luhrmann adaptation of Shakespeare's play.
Turns out the two had a chance to rekindle their relationship 15 years later when Claire auditioned to play the part of secretary Helen Gandy to Leo's J. Edgar Hoover in the 2011 film J. Edgar, around the same time Homeland came along.
Claire reveals how she decided between the roles:
Well, this is random, but it's not without precedent!
Claire Danes covers the August issue of American Vogue for the second time following her first cover back in July 1998 — a lifetime ago, basically!
The Homeland actress is super serious on the Annie Leibovitz-lensed front of the mag, standing on a gravelly path and looking snug in her Burberry trench.
Sure, this is the August issue, but it's trench coat weather in lots of places, like Australia!
Inside the spread
Yet another celeb who didn't get the "punk theme" memo.
But, at least Claire Danes still looks pretty.
The Homeland star wore a shimmery beaded J Mendel gown to the Met Gala tonight that looked like it could have been ripped right out of one of Jay Gatsby's parties! And the way it draped across her body was absolutely perfect.
Miz Danes definitely went for more flapper than punk rocker, but at least she wore a dramatic eye to make things a little more hardcore.
